Pay to Play - Even for the Hillary Lawn Signs

Lawn signs are a joke and I do not think they influence more than a few feebleminded votes. Where I grew up, they were unseen and I never saw many of them until I moved to the New York area.
For the most part they are ego statements by local politicians to get their names out in the open. These locals will usually ask if they can have a lawn sign placed in from of your home. No fee was involved, just a thanks from the candidate.
I live in a terribly leftwing area. I would occasionally have a Republican's lawn sign for the Gubernatorial or Presidential candidate to tweak the neighbors. These signs were all for free.
Around my home, Trump signs are nonexistent. For a while Bernie signs grew out of more lawns than Hillary signs. There is even a 'Stein for President' lawn sign.
So I heard a person asked how he got a Hillary Clinton sign for his lawn. He said HE HAD TO PAY FOR IT!
Now I ask, is nothing sacred to this leach on society? m/r
