Ronaldus Magnus on his Horse
The Czech capital Prague on Friday will join the tributes marking the demise 20 years ago of the Soviet-era Warsaw Pact and the legacy of the late US President Ronald Reagan — a conservative Republican who is still revered by many in the former Soviet satellite states for his vehemently anti-Communist stance — by naming a street after him.
Ironically, the street selected is where the US ambassadorial residence, occupied by a former close advisor to Democrat President Barack Obama and that administration’s “ethics czar,” Norman Eisen, is sited. Eisen’s visiting card and all other letterheads will have to bear the name Ulice Ronalda Reagana (Ronald Reagan Street) in future. ...
...“This is a symbolic step and recognition from the Czech Republic,” said the spokesman for the Prague 6 district, Martin Šalek. “The words ‘Reagan’ and ‘freedom’ are synonymous,” he added.
