Scum of the Earth NYC Mayor Bloomberg secretly aided Ground Zero victory mosque

NYC Mayor Bloomberg secretly aided Ground Zero victory mosque « Creeping Sharia

Hat tip YID With LID via Twitter. Bloomberg wasn’t just pimping the Ground Zero mosque in public and celebrating Ramadan with the sharia-imposing imam – he was pushing the mosque approval through despite a majority of NY’ers opposing it. And he’s still holding back communications. What are you hiding Mike?

Inappropriate Involvement Between NYC Mayor’s Office & Ground Zero Mosque Developers

The Mayor’s office has now responded to our Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request concerning documents pertaining to communications involving this project.

Our attorneys are now reviewing the documents which validate the substance of our suit and reveal an inappropriate involvement between the Mayor’s Office and developers of the mosque.

The 21 pages of disclosures released by the Mayor’s Office reveal that City Hall had direct communications with the Mosque’s developers, explicitly tried to assist with the political process, and was involved with discussions between the developers and the Community Board 1. An email from the developers’ attorney, Shelly Friedman, also acknowledged that Robert Tierney, the Chairman of the LPC, was seeking “political cover” from politicians in order not to landmark the building.

The disclosures, however, are perhaps most significant for what they did not provide. The Mayor’s Office claimed two exemptions under the Public Officer’s Law, including one for intra-agency and inter-agency communications. We will seek a court order to discover the undisclosed documents.

The documents released underscore what we’ve believed all along – that the Mayor was working behind the scenes – in a secretive manner – to promote and advance a project that offends most New Yorkers and most Americans.

The fact that the Mayor’s Office waited four-and-a-half months to respond to our FOIL request and then released only a portion of the documents right before Christmas validates the substance of our claim and clearly indicates that the Mayor continues to hide the full nature of his involvement in this process. The documents raise serious questions about the role of the Mayor in this project.

This is hardly the end of the FOIL issue. We intend to seek a full disclosure from the Mayor in court shortly after the New Year.

The NY Post adds details about emails from Bloomberg’s office, Emails show Bloomberg office’s desire to get Ground Zero mosque built:

In one exchange Nazli Parvizi, commissioner of the city’s Community Affairs Unit, penned a favorable letter to Community Board 1 Chairwoman Julie Menin — thanking her for being open-minded to the project – which has drawn scrutiny nationwide for its proximity to Ground Zero.

Parvizi emailed the drafted letter to the mosque’s imam and his wife – Feisal Abdul Rauf and Daisy Khan – for their permission and ended it with Daisy’s first name.

She sent along the fax number and mailing address for CB1 – which voted in favor of the project in May – and offered any further help.

The letter thanked Menin personally for “giving us an audience to share our vision of the Cordoba Center in Manhattan,” referring to the planned project.

“We are incredibly saddened by the media distortion on what this project actually is and to whom it serves,” Pavizi went on to write.

Menin, a major proponent of the development, said she never received the letter.

Bloomberg has been a vocal fan of building the project – commonly referred to as Park 51 – near Ground Zero, decrying opponents as foes of religious freedom.

We told you about Parvizi – an “Iranian-born former caterer” known as “Commissioner Nazli” who makes $200,000 a year – in this post: Meet Mayor Bloomberg’s Iranian Eyes and Ears

We also told you about Bloomberg’s Palestinian pick for NYC’s immigrant affairs commissioner: NYC Muslims Encouraged by Bloomberg’s Palestinian Pick. She’s been involved in getting the Ground Zero victory mosque approved – even though the lying Faisal Rauf and Daisy Con Khan (or one of her aliases, Kahn) have assured Americans that this was an American-funded mosque for Americans. Hardly an “immigrant affair.”

Another email reveals that Immigrant Affairs Commissioner Fatima Shama expedited a temporary public assembly permit for the group to conduct prayers in January at Park 51

In another letter, Shama congratulated the group after the project was approved by CB1′s finance committee, writing,

“Sharif, Daisy, Iman Faisal,
Again—congratulations!!! This is very exciting for all of you and our community at large!”
