The Blasts That Finally Shook The Emperor of Japan

"Little Boy"
The nuclear bombings on August 6th and 9th finally forced the Japanese to terms with their losing their War against the allies. The two Atomic Bombs dropped saved the US from having to physically invade the Japanese Islands at horrific human cost to both sides. One remarkable thing was that the Uranium Bomb,"Little Boy", did not require testing as the Los Alamos physicists knew it would work. "Fat Man", the Plutonium Bomb, did require testing on the new isotope.

It was unfortunate that Roosevelt agreed to have Stalin enter the war on August 8th against Japan. The Soviets captured Manchuria and opened the north of China with support for the Communists. We are dealing heavily wth that legacy today.
