Unexpectedly!

Not too unexpected. The reverse immigration from California will continue until there is little left to bleed dry. I was born in California, third generation of my family who were all born there for over 130 years. I have a mental, lovely image of the place that now only exists in my dreams.
California is like an aging, once beautify and intelligent, ex-wife who has drifted into deep depression. She has put on too much makeup and gaudy costumes, become grossly obese with a bad heart, mind and high blood pressure. She became deeply in debt by financial ineptitude and just plain insanity. She became infested by illegal, welfare seeking Mexicans, who were not part of her original great Spanish and Californio Heritage, and Easterners escaping from other States, the places with bloated corrupt Democrat run governments, who brought those terrible models to California (personified in Nancy Pelosi and Barbara Boxer). Like typhoid carriers, they brought with them and infect California with that from which they were originally escaping. But they couldn't help themselves and would change. They ruined the eastern states with their brand of politics and found the ripest and biggest populated state ruin the worst of all.
What will save California? It looks too grim; possibly a massive earthquake? m/r

Or not: “Chevron Corp. will move up to 800 jobs — about a quarter of its current headquarters staff — from the Bay Area to Houston over the next two years but will remain based in San Ramon, the oil company told employees Thursday.”
Of course, now it’s 9,800 employees in Texas and 9,100 employees in California. But don’t read anything into that:
“It’s important to reiterate that we are a California-based company,” said Chevron spokesman Morgan Crinklaw. “We’ve been an important part of the state’s economy and growth for 130 years, and we remain committed to this state.”
Which is exactly the kind of thing professional spokespeople say right before they pull up stakes and head for the hills.
