Armed Thief Left With Cash - Oct. 6, 2010

A quick glance at surveillance video taken inside a local convenience store might lead someone to believe the 44th president of the United States committed a crime.

Police said a man wearing a mask of President Barack Obama robbed the Sheetz on Somerset Center Drive at about 3:24 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police said the man, who was armed with a handgun, demanded money and left after he was given cash.

He was last seen driving away in a compact gold or silver vehicle, police said.

Sources inside the Winston-Salem Police Department said Wednesday morning that a suspect is in custody. No other details were given since he hasn't yet been charged.
