Michelle Obama's Lives Lavish Lifestyle (And Lavish Vacations) On Taxpayer Dollars

I've been wondering how long it would take for the blogosphere and the media to begin to heat up more critically over the Obama's lavish lifestyle and frequent vacations, at least to the point that even Democratic pundits weigh in. Apparently that time has come and apparently Michelle Obama's expensive and ostentatiously lavish vacation to Spain (most at taxpayer expense) was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back.

Judith Klinghoffer has a post up about material girl Michelle Obama'smodern-day Marie Antoinette lifestyle:

No first lady could not have gotten away with such ostentatious vulgar spending this long especially during a major depression. Michelle Obama has been pushing her luck in a most insensitive manner for a year and a half. Not that Barack has been much better. Now the dam burst just in time for the midterm elections.

Shannon Bell has more on the excesses of the Obama's at the expense of the taxpayer, and justifiably suggests that we can expect more of the same as long as the Obama regime occupies 1600 Pennsylvania Ave:

The First Lady's excessive trip to Spain on the President's birthday has garnered much attention in the press. The left fawns over her as some sort of modern day American queen who has somehow earned the right to partake in luxuries that most of us will never know, simply by virtue of the fact that she is Michelle Obama. Never taking into account the economic struggles of everyday Americans on a daily basis, all the while asking, no, telling us we must sacrifice for the greater good.

This is how it is with leftists. It's always about what you should do, not what they actually do. Obama (and Michelle) are the "do as I say, not as I do" First Couple. I suppose Marie Antoinette was the same way.

And surely this is just the beginning. Americans are beginning to take notice of the Obama's lavish vacations and lifestyle, as illustrated by the comments in this Sun Times article.
