Works and Days » Is Tom Hanks Unhinged?
No, he is just a PC sound-biter who should know better (and so should Douglas Brinkley). Especially since he produced a WWII series about part of the Pacific War. At that time the Japanese generally exalted in their superiority over the lumbering, over-sized, slow witted American white devils. They had a brutal and racist campaign in official propaganda and action waged against Americans, Filipinos, Koreans, Indochinese and Chinese that was only matched by the Nazi's against the Jews and Slavs.
What can one say, Hanks is in the can with HBO and much of today's Hollywood. It makes him a good living and if he said anything else (no mater what he thought) he would be subjected to a form of brutality never employed by Japan during the war.
