White House Defends Obama Golfing: Sports Help Clear The Mind

 22 Aug 2014

White House reporters questioned Deputy Press Secretary Eric Schultz about President Obama’s decision to go golfing just minutes after he delivered a speech reacting to the news of Islamic State Terrorists beheading of American journalist James Foley.

“I am not going to get in the president’s mindset on that,” Deputy Press Secretary Eric Schultz said in a press conference on Friday. “I will say that generally I think that sports and leisure activities are a good way for release and clearing of the mind for a lot of us.”
Schultz said that anyone who was questioning Obama’s mindset during the day should watch his speech again, calling it “candid,” “from the heart,” “honest,” and “open.”

Jon Karl questioned the optics of the golf outing especially right after his speech, and as the Foley family was grieving.

The Nation's Own Worst Enemy! Obama hits the gas on regs

The SOB is Full of Himself and Crap! m/r

Obama hits the gas on regs | TheHill

Groups that closely follow regulations are expecting the Obama administration to continue issuing controversial rules through the midterm elections, despite the political risk it could pose for Democrats.
With time running out on President Obama’s second term, federal agencies are hitting the gas on a number of regulatory initiatives that are central to the White House’s “go-it-alone” agenda.
The pace of rulemaking is a stark contrast from the months leading up to the 2012 presidential election, when the flow of rules came screeching to a near halt.
The expectation that the gears of the regulatory process will keep moving highlights how the president's desire for a second-term legacy sometimes conflicts with the short-term political considerations of congressional Democrats.
“We can’t underestimate the role politics plays in regulatory decisions,” said Stuart Shapiro, a former staffer at the White House’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, who is now an associate professor at Rutgers University. “It’s important to remember that at the heart of regulations are political decisions.”

Homeland Security: Felix Unger!! The Punitive Bureaucracy's Day Off

Hey Border Patrol, Don't try pulling
that kind of crap on James Bond!
Screw the Government, because that's all they seem to want to too to you!
Northern Border Customs is more interested in what a Scotsman wears under his Kilts than the Southern Border is about diseases, drug criminals, gangsters and terrorists, let alone illegal aliens. They're all in the Bag (pipes). m/r

The Punitive Bureaucracy's Day Off :: SteynOnline

by Mark Steyn  •  Aug 19, 2014

I wrote two weeks ago about two New Hampshire teenagers having their bagpipes seized at the northern border by US Customs & Border Protection. This would be the same "border" "protection" agency that has turned the southern border into an express welfare check-in for any of the world's seven billion people minded to show up there.
My fellow Granite Staters - 17-year-old Campbell Webster and Eryk Bean, of Concord and Londonderry, New Hampshire - understood that if you go to a highland fling a couple of hours north in Quebec you're now obligated to get your bagpipes approved by US Fish & Wildlife.
Because that's just the way it is in the Land of the Free.
So Messrs Webster and Bean got their CITES certificate and presented it to the US CBP agent at the Vermont border crossing.
Whereupon he promptly confiscated their bagpipes on the grounds that, yes, their US Fish & Wildlife CITES paperwork was valid, but it's only valid at 28 ports of entry and this wasn't one of them.
Nor is any other US/Canadian land crossing. So, if you're a piper in, say, Pittsburg, New Hampshire and you want to play in a competition in La Patrie, Quebec 20 minutes north, you have to drive four-to-five hours south to Logan Airport in Boston, fly to Montreal and drive two hours east to La Patrie.
Because that's just the way it is in the Land of the Free.

The Left Loved Hitler in 1939 until June 1941 - The Stalin-Hitler Pact Turns 75

On orders from Uncle Joe Stalin, Commies and Nazis were comrades. m/r

The Stalin-Hitler Pact Turns 75 | FrontPage Magazine

By Lloyd Billingsley On August 22, 2014 In Daily Mailer,FrontPage
In June, Western democratic leaders invited Vladimir Putin to the 70th anniversary of D-Day memorial in France, but there’s no good reason he should have been be there. Putin is an autocrat, not a democrat. He laments the demise of the Soviet Union, a dictatorship that played no role in the D-Day operation. And since Putin is now conducting an incremental invasion of Ukraine, a different memorial would be more suitable. As it happens, this one is long overdue and remains shrouded in ignorance.

Seventy-five years ago, on August 23, 1939, the USSR and Nazi Germany became allies through the Stalin-Hitler Pact. Joachim von Ribbentrop signed for Hitler and Soviet foreign minister Vyacheslav Molotov signed on behalf of Stalin. Molotov said that Hitlerism was “a matter of taste,” and that it was “not only senseless, but criminal” to wage war on Hitler “camouflaged as a fight for democracy.” Though often described as a “non-aggression pact,” the reverse was true.

The month after the Pact, Stalin and Hitler both invaded Poland, starting World War II. The Pact also gave Stalin control of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, which he retained after the war, along with other conquests such as Czechoslovakia, Hungary and what became the German Democrat Republic, the regime that made emigration an exciting experience.

While the pact was in effect, Soviet and Nazi intelligence agencies worked together and American Communists did everything in their power to keep the United States from coming to Britain’s aid. During the Pact, the Soviets murdered 22,000 Polish officers in the Katyn forest. That came at the direct order of Stalin, as Russia now acknowledges. Less well known is the reality that Stalin also handed over German Jewish Communists to Hitler’s Gestapo. At the Nuremberg trials after the war, Joachim von Ribbentrop was convicted for signing the Pact while Molotov, who signed for Stalin, sat in the accuser’s chair. So Stalin and his gang got away with it.

A Nazi-Soviet Pact memorial would be a great opportunity for Putin to express his admiration for Stalin. …

Racist Holder’s Lynch Mob in Ferguson with Al Shartpon as Point Man

With Holder it is not about Justice, He wants to Avenge all his perceived Racial Injustices. m/r
The Department of Justice has become a racial-grievance incubator since President Obama was sworn in.
Holder’s Lynch Mob in Ferguson | FrontPage Magazine

By Matthew Vadum On August 22, 2014 In Daily Mailer,FrontPage
The cop-hating radical lawyers of Eric Holder’s Justice Department are reportedly continuing to feed the passions of the lynch mob in Ferguson, Mo., that is screaming for the blood of the white cop who shot and killed a young black man earlier this month in what now almost certainly appears to be an act of self-defense.

A white police officer’s racism, an allegation for which there is no evidence whatsoever, supposedly caused the unfortunate incident. But the leftists who run the federal government need this. They want it badly. A police officer has to be sacrificed to appease Democrats’ political base and to help fend off an increasingly likely Republican takeover of the U.S. Senate in November.

Federal civil rights charges may be in the works against Darren Wilson, the white police officer who shot Michael Brown after an intense physical altercation that left Wilson with severe head injuries.

The feds may simply ignore local authorities and go forward with a case against Wilson, says Hans von Spakovsky, who worked in the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division under President George W. Bush. He is currently a senior legal fellow at the Heritage Foundation and is co-author of the recently published Obamas Enforcer: Eric Holders Justice Department.

“Eric Holder has completely politicized the Justice Department,” von Spakovsky told WND’s Greg Corombos. “As we can see, unfortunately, this is happening in other places like the Travis County (Texas) D.A.’s office” that charged Texas Gov. Rick Perry with a crime for threatening to veto legislation.

“That should concern every American,” he said. “I don’t care what their political background is because that is a threat to everyone’s liberty and everyone’s freedom when that kind of power is used for political purposes.”
