Some TeePee for the "Cherokee" of the People

The $124 million spent to date for the 303,000 square foot office building is $409 per square foot, more than Trump World Tower, which cost $334 per square foot or Las Vegas’ Bellagio Hotel and Casino, priced at $330 per square foot. It’s also double the $227.64 per square foot construction costs for “Class 1 – Best Quality” of masonry or concrete government buildings as reported in the 2018 National Building Cost Manual, the Bible for construction cost projections.

An Exclusive Peek Into Elizabeth Warren’s Luxurious CFPB Headquarters

by Richard Pollock 2-7-18

Taxpayers no longer have to wonder how their money has been spent at the newly renovated headquarters at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Mick Mulvaney, the CFPB’s acting director, graciously allowed The Daily Caller News Foundation to take an exclusive tour on Feb. 1 of the federal office — founded by Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts — that has been widely criticized for cost overruns and extravagance.
A June 2014 Inspector General report concluded there was “no sound basis” for the agency’s renovation cost estimates. Shortly thereafter, the contracting for the building was transferred from the bureau to the General Services Administration, that oversaw the current renovation.
Martin Michalosky, the bureau’s chief administrative officer, escorted The DCNF on the tour. He was helpful and courteous as this DCNF reporter walked through the six stories of the building that sits across the street from the White House.

George Soros, the man who 'broke the Bank of England', backing secret plot to thwart Brexit

eorge Soros, the billionaire known as the man who “broke the Bank of England”, is backing a campaign to overturn Brexit, the Telegraph can disclose.
The investor is one of three senior figures linked to the Remain-supporting campaign group Best for Britain who plan to launch a nationwide advertising campaign this month, which they hope will lead to a second referendum to keep Britain in the EU.
The campaign is trying to recruit major Tory donors in an attempt to undermine Theresa May.
It also plans to target MPs and convince them to vote against the final Brexit deal to trigger another referendum or general election, according to a strategy document leaked from a meeting of the group.

The document says the campaign, which will begin by the end of this month, must “wake the country up and assert that Brexit is not a done deal. That it’s not too late to stop Brexit”.

What’s Behind Trump’s Budget Proposal To Eliminate The White House Drug Czar?

by Ethan Barton 2-5-18
  • The White House’s Office of National Drug Control Policy reportedly might cut its budget by 95 percent
  • A rift between career staff and political appointees contributed to this budget consideration
  • Two anti-drug programs would be moved to other agencies under the Office of Management and Budget’s proposal
Career staff crucial to crafting the president’s budget proposals have long held a turf war with the White House’s drug policy office and are now taking advantage of inexperienced political appointees and unfilled leadership positions to try to gut the agency amidst the opioid epidemic, sources familiar with both offices told The Daily Caller News Foundation.
The White House’s Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) – headed by a so-called drug czar – crafts the government’s multi-agency strategy to combat illegal drugs in the U.S., and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is reportedly considering cutting its budget by 95 percent.

The Swamp Snakes conducted a sham investigation

Thanks to the battle over the memo, we also know with 100 percent certainty that the mainstream media is part of the swamp.

The GOP memo proves the ‘deep state’ is real

Now that we know what the declassified House memo says about government misconduct, we also know what it means: The Washington swamp — the deep state — is bigger, more vicious and more dangerous to American liberty than even a cynic could have imagined.
Because of the memo and previous revelations, we know that swamp creatures are embedded in the top of the FBI and the Department of Justice. Some used their power to try to tip a presidential campaign based on their personal politics.
They conducted a sham investigation of the Democratic candidate and misled federal judges to spy on at least one associate of her Republican challenger.

To block exposure of their misdeeds, these officials falsely claimed that national security would be damaged. Add that despicable lie — issued in the name of the FBI itself — to their shameful records.

Colts Linebacker Edwin Jackson Killed by Drunk Driver With Deportation Order

By Michael van der Galien February 5, 2018

On Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts informed fans that linebacker Edwin Jackson had died. The professional football player was killed in a car accident. The driver who caused the accident was, it was later reported, driving while intoxicated: ...
But that's not all there is to this story. The Washington Times reports that Alex Cabrera Gonsales, 37, was wanted for deportation:
Mr. Cabrera Gonsales didn’t have a driver’s license, tried to flee the scene of the accident and had a blood-alcohol level of at least .15 (nearly twice the legal limit), authorities said.

Nunes Duels the Deep State

Patrick J. Buchanan   February 5, 2018

That memo worked up in the Intel Committee of Chairman Devin Nunes may not have sunk the Mueller investigation, but from the sound of the secondary explosions, this torpedo was no dud.
The critical charge:
To persuade a FISA court to issue a warrant to spy on Trump aide Carter Page, the FBI relied on a dossier produced by a Trump-hating British spy, who was using old Kremlin contacts, while being paid to dig up dirt on Donald Trump by Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
Not only were the Clinton campaign and DNC paying the spy, Christopher Steele, for his dirt-diving, the FBI put Steele on its own payroll, until they caught him lying about leaking to the media.
In their requests for search warrants, the FBI never told the FISA court judge their primary source was a 35-page dossier delivered by Steele that their own Director James Comey described as “salacious and unverified.”

Presence of Malice

The 1981 film, "Absence of Malice", depicts a corrupt Federal Prosecutor who leaks a story to an overly ambitious newswoman in order to entrap an innocent man into divulging information he may or may not know. The corrupt prosecutor is a dirty little cretin named Elliot Rosen played by Bob Balaban. Rosen gets caught in his illegal trap and gets fired by his ethical boss.
Let us hope something similar, including prosecution, happens to Rod Rosenstein!

Report: Deputy AG Rosenstein Threatened to Subpoena GOP Intel Reps' Calls and Texts

By Debra Heine February 3, 2018

Highly placed congressional sources are telling Fox News personalities off the record that last month, out of frustration, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein threatened to subpoena the communication records of Republican members of the House Intelligence Committee. If true, the threat could constitute an abuse of power or even obstruction, a Fox News legal analyst says.
On Fox Business' “Making Money” Friday, conservative talk show host David Webb said a "highly placed congressional source" told him that during a January 10, 2018, meeting with FBI Director Christopher Wray, Rosenstein, and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Nunes were in attendance, Rosenstein got so irritated by the requests for outstanding documents that he threatened to subpoena Congress and launch an investigation.
Webb pointed out that investigating Congress is not something the deputy AG can do just because of "the constant requests that he wasn't filling."

Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett made the same claim on Fox News Friday night.
"A congressional source tells me that Rod Rosenstein in a meeting three weeks ago threatened Chairman Nunes and members of Congress that he was going to subpoena their texts and messages because he was tired of dealing with the Intel Committee," Jarrett said at the end of a segment on "Hannity."

Saturday morning, Jarrett tweeted that a second source had told him Rosenstein had threatened members of the House Intelligence Committee, calling it likely "an abuse of power and obstruction.
