We know whose side she is on, and it is not ours - Clinton asks Congress, whose side are you on?

My Way News - Clinton asks Congress, whose side are you on?

She's asking bluntly, "Whose side are you on?"

Setting up a showdown on Libya, House Republicans agreed Wednesday to vote on dueling measures, one to give President Barack Obama limited authority to continue U.S. involvement in the NATO-led operation against Moammar Gadhafi and the other to cut off funds for military hostilities.

The measures reflect widespread dissatisfaction with Obama's decision not to seek congressional consent for the 3-month-old war.

The Food-Stamp Crime Wave

James Bovard has long been able to cut through to the facts that undermine our liberties!
He is an equal opportunity skewerer.

"H.L. Mencken quipped that the New Deal divided America into "those who work for a living and those who vote for a living."

The Food-Stamp Crime Wave

Millionaires are now legally entitled to collect food stamps as long as they have little or no monthly income. Thirty-five states have abolished asset tests for most food-stamp recipients. These and similar "paperwork reduction" reforms advocated by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) are turning the food-stamp program into a magnet for abuses and absurdities.

The Obama administration is far more enthusiastic about boosting food-stamp enrollment than about preventing fraud. Thanks in part to vigorous federally funded campaigns by nonprofit groups, the government's AmericaCorps service program, and other organizations urging people to accept government handouts, the number of food-stamp recipients has soared to 44 million from 26 million in 2007, and costs have more than doubled to $77 billion from $33 billion.

The USDA's Food and Nutrition Service now has only 40 inspectors to oversee almost 200,000 merchants that accept food stamps nationwide. The Government Accountability Office reported last summer that retailers who traffic illegally in food stamps by redeeming stamps for cash or alcohol or other prohibited items "are less likely to face criminal penalties or prosecution" than in earlier years.

Lax attitudes toward fraud are spurring swindles across the nation:

• Earlier this month, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel revealed that Wisconsin food-stamp recipients routinely sell their benefit cards on Facebook.

Red Birds of a Feather... Medvedev says wants to see Obama re-elected

Medvedev says wants to see Obama re-elected
Jun 19 05:42 PM US/Eastern
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Monday he wanted his US counterpart Barack Obama to win re-election next year, fearing that the two men's efforts to improve ties may lose steam under a new administration.

"I can tell you directly -- I would like Barack Obama to be re-elected president of the United States maybe more than someone else," Medvedev said in an interview with the Financial Times whose full transcript was released by the Kremlin early Monday.

"If another person becomes US president then he may have another course," he said.

Obama Gets Lecture He Sorely Deserved!

Our arrogant President, in one misguided and despicable speech, threatened not only Israel’s safety, but its bare existence. Obama has clearly telegraphed his socialist plans for America, and now he has made clear on which side he stands. In the Middle East, he is against Israel.

Obama lacks a sense of history in the same way he lacks a sense of humor.

He is grim as is our future.

Netanyahu Delivers Rare Public Rebuke to U.S. President Over Proposal to Restart Peace Talks

By JAY SOLOMON And CAROL E. LEE

WASHINGTON—Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a rare public rebuke of President Barack Obama at the White House, declaring that Israel would never accept the terms of his proposal to resume peace talks with the Palestinians.

Mr. Netanyahu appeared to lecture Mr. Obama following their nearly two-hour meeting Friday—exposing tensions between leaders over Mideast policy that are usually kept out of the public eye.

That followed some unsuccessful behind-the-scenes wrangling by Israeli officials to convince Mr. Obama to abandon plans to urge, in a major speech Thursday, that peace negotiations resume based on Israel's borders before it gained new territory in the 1967 Six Day War.

Before cameras and reporters in the Oval Office Friday afternoon, Mr. Netanyahu turned to face the president while telling him Israel "cannot go back to the 1967 lines" that are "indefensible."

The discord was likely to play out further at the annual gathering of Washington's most powerful pro-Israel lobby, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, where Mr. Obama was scheduled to speak on Sunday and Mr. Netanyahu the following day.

Now we know who's side he's on! Obama says Palestine must be based in 1967 borders

Why make it just 44 years ago, why not make it 5,771 years ago. I say make it as of the time of
Moses and include the Sinai Peninsula as part of Greater Israel!
Let's have the Cease Fire Lines of 1967 instead!

Obama says Palestine must be based in 1967 borders - Yahoo! News

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama is endorsing the Palestinians' demand for their future state to be based on the borders that existed before the 1967 Middle East war, in a move that will likely infuriate Israel. Israel says the borders of a Palestinian state have to be determined through negotiations.

In a speech outlining U.S. policy in the Middle East and North Africa, Obama on Thursday sided with the Palestinians' opening position a day ahead of a visit to Washington by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu is vehemently opposed to referring to the 1967 borders.

Until Thursday, the U.S. position had been that the Palestinian goal of a state based on the 1967 borders, with agreed land swaps, should be reconciled with Israel's desire for a secure Jewish state through negotiations.

iPhone, iPad tracking exposed

Apple makes great products and I have used them since 1984, but this intrusion into our personal movements is going too far!
Jobs has been hanging with the current regime in Washington too long. They wanted to have us report our neighbors to the White House if they complained about Obamacare. Now they can find us, easy.

Summary Box: iPhone, iPad tracking exposed - Forbes.com
By The Associated Press, 04.21.11

TRACKING TUMULT: Privacy watchdogs are demanding answers from Apple Inc. about why iPhones and iPads are secretly collecting location data on users.

WHY IT'S A PROBLEM: Since the data is unencrypted, it would be easy for a hacker or a suspicious spouse or a law enforcement officer to find without a warrant.

No response from Apple as of yet

We Should Sue him for the feeling he gives us in our Pit -Kucinich sues over olive pit in sandwich -

This vegan wimp is so used to eating strained peas that he couldn't identify an olive pit that accidentally didn't get removed. Why isn't he suing the FDA for not finding the pit. Isn't he one of the biggest advocates for government controlling every aspect of our lives, including all things that pass our lips?
This cretinous representative from Ohio is seeking damages that should cost him, at most, 2% of what he is claiming in the suit. He can't be suing for loss of income, can he? Even with time lost, his time is worth less than anyone else's in the Country. The proof of that is how much time he and other members of Congress actually spend on the job...and that is is still too much from keeping them from doing some new form of damage to us all, three to four days of the week, when they are in session!

Rep. Kucinich sues over olive pit in sandwich - Yahoo! News
By ANDREW MIGA, Associated Press Wed Jan 26, 2011

WASHINGTON – Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio is suing a congressional cafeteria for dental damage he says he suffered after biting into an olive pit in a sandwich wrap he bought there.

Kucinich's attorney, Andrew Young, declined to comment Wednesday on the lawsuit seeking $150,000 in damages from companies involved with the Longworth House Office Building cafeteria. A spokesman in Kucinich's congressional office also declined to comment.

The civil suit filed earlier this month in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia said the wrap "contained dangerous substances, namely an olive pit," that a consumer would not reasonably expect to find in the product served. The suit said that Kucinich suffered "serious and permanent" dental and oral injuries requiring multiple surgical and dental procedures.

Kucinich's lawsuit said the Ohio Democrat bought the sandwich on or about April 17, 2008. He is seeking damages for "past and future medical and dental expenses, compensation for pain, suffering and loss of enjoyment and other damages."

The liberal congressman made an unsuccessful bid for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination.

“Obama backs Venezuela’s right to nuclear energy” Somehow this story of a major threat to the US eluded most of the Press.

It must not have been in the front pages of the NY Times.

One wonders why- It couldn't be that it would make Obama look even worse than he already does, does it? Or maybe it would have interfered with his stumping for left-wing candidates.

[Mooserider]

Obama and the Axis of Chavez

The Rosett Report October 21st, 2010

It’s getting ever tougher to tell hard news from satire, especially with headlines such as “Obama backs Venezuela’s right to nuclear energy” — this atop a story in which the AFP this week went on to report that President Barack Obama says he’s OK with Russia building a nuclear plant for Venezuela, as long as Venezuela doesn’t go and do something irresponsible with it all (such as maybe, well, you know… use the project as a cover for pursuing or installing nuclear weapons in America’s backyard).

Obama’s eye-popping line, quoted in this story, is: “We have no incentive or interest in increasing friction between Venezuela and the U.S., but we do think Venezuela needs to act responsibly.”

File that under the gazillion hollow U.S. statements of “concern” and “disappointment” which in recent years have punctuated Iran’s proliferating adventures with enriched uranium, and North Korea’s two nuclear tests. There are a great many things with which America would have no problem, if the predatory tyrants behind them would just act “responsibly” — the problem is that they have no intention of doing so, and they don’t.

In this case, Venezuela’s deal for a nuclear reactor emerged from a visit just paid by President Hugo Chavez to Moscow, as part of a ten-day trip to Belarus, Russia, Iran, Syria, Libya and Portugal. Setting aside Portugal, does anyone in the White House notice a common theme to this itinerary? Chavez is making yet another tour of an axis of despotisms. This gang runs the gamut from weapons dealers to sponsors of terrorism to nuclear proliferators — past, present and future. This is not the itinerary of a democratic leader shopping for technology to enhance the electricity supply of a free and happy citizenry back home. If your grandmother were to take off on a 10-day deal-making spree through Minsk, Moscow, Tehran, Damascus and Tripoli, you’d be right to wonder what she was really up to. When Hugo Chavez does it, it is head-spinning irresponsibility of the first order for the White House to entertain even for a split second the idea that this has anything to do with “peaceful” nuclear power.

To Destroy US Is No Loss - Administration halts prosecution of alleged USS Cole bomber

Administration halts prosecution of alleged USS Cole bomber

Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, August 26, 2010; 8:47 PM\
The Obama administration has shelved the planned prosecution ofAbd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the alleged coordinator of the Oct. 2000 suicide attack on the USS Cole in Yemen, according to a court filing.

The decision at least temporarily scuttles what was supposed to bethe signature trial of a major al-Qaeda figure under a reformed system of military commissions. And it comes practically on the eve of the 10th anniversary of the attack, which killed 17 sailors and wounded dozens when a boat packed with explosives ripped a hole in the side of the warship in the port of Aden.

In a filing this week in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, the Justice Department said that "no charges are either pending or contemplated with respect to al-Nashiri in the near future."

The statement, tucked into a motion to dismiss a petition by Nashiri's attorneys, suggests that the prospect of further military trials for detainees held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, has all but ground to a halt, much as the administration's plan to try the accused plotters of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in federal court has stalled.

It's All About My "Cheshire Cat" of a Middle Name and I Reach Out to Islam

Israel just doesn't understand, they hate me for my middle name, not because I have turned my back on the one ally we have in the Near East.

No one gets it better than Claudia Rosett, here-

As part of his public reconciliation with Israel, Obama for the first time in the almost 18 months since he became president just gave an interview to an Israeli TV station (this from the same American president who gave his first interview in office to Al-Arabiya —remember that ?). Speaking Wednesday to Israel’s Channel 2 News, Obama struck a friendly tone.

And yet, as if he can’t quite help himself, out comes this astonishingly crude remark. As reported in the New York Times, he was asked about “the anxiety of many Israelis who feel that he does not have a special bond with Israel.” Obama replied — get ready for it: “Some of it may just be the fact that my middle name is Hussein, and that creates suspicion.”

Come again? There are Americans who have wondered about that middle name, less because it is “Hussein” than because it has lived a strange life of its own, fading in and out depending on the audience – disappearing during Obama’s 2008 election campaign, reappearing during his outreach to the “Muslim world,” coming and going as if it mattered in some malleable way to Obama himself. Has he ever considered that public worry about his middle name might have more to do with the slippery nature of its use, and the too often disturbing policies of its owner, than with the name itself?

And for Obama to impute Israeli anxiety to his Cheshire Cat of a middle name is grossly dismissive and insulting to the Israelis. Does he really believe they are such bigots as to judge him — other things equal — by his middle name? Does he have any evidence for that? Or was he drawing on his own stereotype of Israelis? How exactly was he judging them, when he tossed out that remark?

I’ll venture a wild guess that the problem for Israelis is not Obama’s name — first, last, or middle — but his flim-flam fictions and negligence regarding too many hard and dangerous realities in the Middle East. Since becoming commander-in-chief of Israel’s most important ally, America, Obama has repeatedly bypassed or undermined Israel’s very real concerns about self-defense. He has been content to leave Israel in the impossible position of being constrained to wait upon his own feckless policy of apologies and “outreach” toward the “Muslim world,” while Iran races toward nuclear weapons and its leaders trumpet their desire to wipe Israel off the map, in concert with the goals of Iran’s terrorist allies Hamas and Hezbollah — bordering Israel out of Gaza and Lebanon.

Perhaps it’s Obama himself who’s been paying too much attention to his own middle name — betting that by sheer force of personal style, by extending his hand and averting his eyes, he can turn tyrants and terrorists into well-behaved pals. Step-by-step, realities have been interfering with that approach, and to some extent, this has begun moderating Obama’s policies. It’s been a while since he last advertised his abilities to conjure peace out of negotiating with Iran’s mullahs “without preconditions.” On July 1, presented with an overwhelmingly approved bipartisan bill by Congress, he finally gave the OK to enhanced Iran sanctions. And, having snubbed Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in May, Obama recovered his manners during a meeting this week.

If this is Obama’s public education we are observing, it is an unnerving performance — slow, shaky, half-baked and resting on no discernible set of principles likely to instill confidence in any of America’s allies. It has a lot of Americans feeling pretty nervous too. As long as this is the tenor of Obama’s leadership, it doesn’t matter whether his name is Barack Hussein Obama or Digby Abraham Buckley III. There are life and death matters here in which he has been failing the test as leader of the Free World, and that — not his middle name — is the problem.
