Global Warming | Think tank compares belief in global warming to Manson, bin Laden

05/04/2012 By Caroline May - The Daily Caller

Update: Heartland Institute pulls the billboard. See below.

A free market think tank is taking its beef with climate change alarmists to the Chicago skies.

The Heartland Institute has announced a billboard campaign highlighting the unsavory characters who “still believe in global warming,” including “Unabomber” Ted Kaczynski, mass murderer Charles Manson and dictator Fidel Castro.

According to Heartland, terrorist Osama bin Laden and Discovery Channel hostage taker James J. Lee may also occupy a climate change billboard in the near future.

“These rogues and villains were chosen because they made public statements about how man-made global warming is a crisis and how mankind must take immediate and drastic actions to stop it,” Heartland explained on their website.

Heartland said that the comments these infamous men have made about global warming are all too similar to comments by those who represent the authority on climate change science.

“[W]hat these murderers and madmen have said differs very little from what spokespersons for the United Nations, journalists for the ‘mainstream’ media, and liberal politicians say about global warming,” Heartland wrote on their site. “They are so similar, in fact, that a web site has a quiz that asks if you can tell the difference between what Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber, wrote in his ‘Manifesto’ and what Al Gore wrote in his book, Earth in the Balance.”

The campaign is meant to get people to question their belief in global warming — which they argue is not a “‘mainstream,’ smart, or sophisticated” viewpoint — with the face of the men plastered next to the question, “I still believe in global warming. Do you?”

Heartland does offer the caveat that belief in global warming does not indicate a predisposition to murder.

“Of course, not all global warming alarmists are murderers or tyrants. But the Climategate scandal and the more recent Fakegate scandal revealed that the leaders of the global warming movement are willing to break the law and the rules of ethics to shut down scientific debate and implement their left-wing agendas.”

Don't let facts get in the way- UTOPIA at all cost!: We Must Build “An Entirely New Kind Of Global Society”

No one favors small families and less population more than I, but not as a government mandate, and only as a personal choice! m/r

» Ehrlich, Hansen, Lovelock: We Must Build “An Entirely New Kind Of Global Society” Alex Jones' Infowars: There's a war on for your mind!
Jurriaan MaessenInfowars.com
April 10, 2012

In the statement titled “Environment and Development Challenges: The Imperative to Actmeant to inspire the UN and its upcoming 2012 Earth Summit, the fiends call for a global implementation of population policies. To effectively implement these policies the authors propose rights being infringed upon in order to address what they call “the population issue”:
The population issue should be urgently addressed by education and empowerment of women, including in the work-force and in rights, ownership and inheritance; health care of children and the elderly; and making modern contraception accessible to all.”, they write.
We of course know perfectly well what they mean by “health care of children and the elderly”. We have recently seen the terrible results of health care for children in the eugenicists’ model-state of China.
Decrying that “funding (for worldwide fertility control) decreased by 30% between 1995 and 2008, not least as a result of legislative pressure from the religious right in the USA and elsewhere”, the authors call for “education and planning needed to foster and achieve a sustainable human population and lifestyles.”
How does one do that exactly, “achieve a sustainable human population”, you may wonder:
“Globally, we must find better means to agree and implement measures to achieve collective goals.”
Finally, in a dramatic turn the band of eugenic brothers turn to the old Malthusian trick of scaring the children into action:
“In the face of an absolutely unprecedented emergency, society has no choice but to take dramatic action to avert a collapse of civilization. Either we will change our ways and build an entirely new kind of global society, or they will be changed for us.”
These eco-fascists clearly stop at nothing as they attempt to terrorize the world into accepting their envisioned “global society.”

And Why Gas is So Expensive! Obama’s Enviro-Fat Cat Welfare Program

With Enviro-Nazi Enforcement!
Al Gore tries another scam tactic to carbonize your dollars.

Obama’s Enviro-Fat Cat Welfare Program | FrontPage Magazine
By Rich Trzupek On February 20, 2012

Last week Al Gore called capitalism “unsustainable.” It was a silly pronouncement, but considering the way that the Obama administration is manipulating the economy to benefit its “green energy” buddies, the ex-vice president may have stumbled across a greater truth: Obama’s crony-capitalism is clearly unsustainable.

In a blockbuster story published last week, Washington Post reporters Carol D. Leonnig and Joe Stephens outlined more of the details of the incestuous relationship that the administration and green energy companies share. With $80 billion of stimulus money set aside for so-called clean energy projects there was a huge temptation to cross ethical boundaries separating the private and public sectors and it appears that few people involved in the business were able to resist that kind of temptation.

For example, the Post story explains how venture capitalist Sanjay Wagle served on an Energy Department panel that decided which companies would receive a chunk of the $80 billion pie, even though Wagle’s former firm – Vantage Point Venture Partners – received $2.4 billion of those funds over the past three years. According to the Post:

Wagle’s former employer had invested in several companies that received federal money: Brightsource, which won a $1.6 billion federal loan for a solar-generating plant; Tesla Motors, which won a $465 million loan to build electric cars; and biofuels firm Mascoma, which in 2011 received $80 million for a Michigan ethanol plant.

Overall, the Post investigation unearthed $3.9 billion in federal grants, and financing flowed to 21 companies backed by firms with connections to five Obama administration staffers and advisers. It’s easy to conclude that’s just the tip of a very big iceberg.

Ironically, these latest troubling revelations come just as the poster-child of the president’s failed energy policy is falling apart. The wind lobby was unable to convince Congress to extend production tax credits for wind power generation. Without that revenue, wind power cannot compete in the free market as even industry advocates themselves admit. Like failed solar power companies such as Solyndra and Ener1, the wind industry faces tough times ahead, despite billions upon billions of government subsidies.

Who the Hell Do They Think They Are? Meanwhile, the UN Is Planning Your Future — All Of It

The UN's Wannsee Conference for its Final Climate Hoax Solution.

The Rosett Report » Meanwhile, the UN Is Planning Your Future — All Of It
Claudia Rosett 2-13-12

The United Nations hasn’t stopped the carnage in Syria, hasn’t stopped Iran’s race for nuclear weapons, and so far hasn’t even managed to produce financial disclosure forms for its top officials that actually disclose anything about their finances. (For instance. here’s the UN “disclosure” form for the head of the UN Environment Program, Achim Steiner).

But that’s no bar to the UN proposing to plan the future of the planet. While the headlines focus on upheaval in the Middle East, financial crisis in Europe and election year politics in the U.S., the UN has been planning its grand summit-level Rio+20 Conference, scheduled for June 20-22 in Brazil. This will mark the 20th anniversary of the Rio Earth Summit, which helped spade the ground for climate hysteria, the Kyoto Treaty and the quack vilification of the world’s most productive economies. This round, the UN plans to make even more “sustainable” the things the UN-ocracy would like to see sustained — paramount among them, the UN itself.

As is the way of such UN confabs, the Rio+20 Conference already has a “Dedicated Secretariat,” headed by China’s Sha Zukang, the UN Under-Secretary-General who made news in 2010 for his drunken rant during a UN retreat at an Austrian ski resort — in which Sha declared he had never liked UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, and he didn’t like Americans either. Also in 2010, Sha served as ceremonial presenter of a “World Harmony Award” to the former Chinese military chief who was operational commander during the 1989 crushing of Tiananmen Square uprising.

Now, Fox News Executive Editor George Russell reports that Ban Ki-Moon, Sha Zukang and another two dozen or more of the UN’s top Rio+20 planners held a closed-door retreat last October, at a Long Island mansion, where they discussed how Rio+20 could help them reshape the world. The proceedings were meant to be secret (apparently, UN top managers prefer that the world not know the details until their world reshaping is already well underway). But Russell got hold of the confidential minutes of the discussions, which are linked in his story, “UN chief, aides, plot ‘green economy’ agenda at upcoming summit.

Amonix, a California-based solar power company, laid off 200 at North Las Vegas

Solar flare-outs!

Some 200 laid off at North Las Vegas Amonix solar plant - Las Vegas Sun

Just seven months after California-based solar power company Amonix Inc.opened its largest manufacturing plant, in North Las Vegas, the company’s contractor has laid off nearly two-thirds of its workforce.

Flextronics Industrial, the Singapore solar panel manufacturer that partnered with Amonix to staff the new $18 million, 214,000-square-foot plant, laid off about 200 of its 300-plus employees Tuesday.

Amonix’s director of manufacturing operations, Eric Culberson, said the layoffs are part of “retooling” the factory as the company prepares to roll out its next-generation product.

Loafers and Suck-ups - Environmentalism and the Leisure Class

Of course the environmentalist were watching out for icebergs and polar bears over the horizon just ahead of the coming Ice Age in the 1970s.

The American Spectator : Environmentalism and the Leisure Class

In playing Keystone cop, President Obama protects his environmental flank for no good reason.

This week President Obama handed down what may prove to be one of the most fateful decisions of his entire administration when he rejected the plan to build the Keystone XL Pipeline carrying oil from the tar sands of Canada to the refineries of Houston. The decision did not win him one new vote but was crucial in protecting his environmental flank. The movie stars and Sierra Club contributors were getting restless and had drawn the line in the sand.

In turning down Keystone, however, the President has uncovered an ugly little secret that has always lurked beneath the surface of environmentalism. Its basic appeal is to the affluent. Despite all the professions of being "liberal" and "against big business," environmentalism's main appeal is that it promises to slow the progress of industrial progress. People who are already comfortable with the present state of affairs -- who are established in the environment, so to speak -- are happy to go along with this. It is not that they have any greater insight into the mysteries and workings of nature. They are happier with the way things are. In fact, environmentalism works to their advantage. The main danger to the affluent is not that they will be denied from improving their estate but that too many other people will achieve what they already have. As the Forest Service used to say, the person who built his mountain cabin last year is an environmentalist. The person who wants to build one this year is a developer.

Environmentalism has spent three decades trying to hide this simple truth. How can environmentalists be motivated by self-interest when they are anti-business? Doesn't that align them with the working classes? Well, not quite. You can be anti-business as a union member trying to claim higher wages but you can also be anti-business as a member of the aristocracy who believes "trade" and "commercialism" are crass and not attuned to the higher things in life. Environmentalism is born from the latter, not the former. It has spent decades trying to pretend it has common cause with the working people. With the defeat of the Keystone Pipeline, this is no longer possible. Too many blue-collar and middle-class jobs have been sacrificed on the altar of carbon emissions and global warming.

In 1977, I wrote a cover story for Harper's called "Environmentalism and the Leisure Class," my first story for a national magazine. Environmentalism was very young at the time -- born supposedly on Earth Day in 1970 -- but had already achieved a seat in the upper echelons of the Carter Administration. These freshly appointed bureaucrats began canceling dams, preaching the sins of fossil fuels, and raising obstacles to nuclear power.

Worst Spin Possible = in the 1930s the glacier was falling apart as quickly as it has been recently.

Lying by false emphasis, it is all a hoax!

Glacial Breakdown - Science News

Web edition : Monday, December 19th, 2011
Greenland's Helheim Glacier is shedding ice at a high rate (same as 1930s).
Big chunks of ice have been falling off Greenland’s Helheim Glacier at an unusually high rate over the past 10 years, a new study finds.
Warm summers and the intrusion of warmer Atlantic waters may be to blame, researchers in Denmark and the United States report online December 12 in Nature Geoscience.
To reconstruct the glacier’s history since 1890, the scientists examined sediments from the fjord below. Sand grains in the sediments revealed that only in the 1930s was the glacier falling apart as quickly as it has been recently.

It is a metaphor for greenies "Volt is the Car For Idiots" -Audi President Elaborates on Criticism of Volt

He Wimps out!
The reality is America should be manufacturing and importing turbo-diesels and making hydrogen fuel engines.
But nooooooooooo! Can't as easily scam the 'idiots' with those power sources.

Audi President Elaborates on Criticism of Volt - NYTimes.com
He says he doesn’t recall calling the Volt “a car for idiots,” and explains, “It was certainly not my intention to leave the impression that I’m opposed to electrical vehicles, and if I was unclear on either of those points then I need to eat crow.”

The original post:

“No one is going to pay a $15,000 premium for a car that competes with a Corolla. So there are not enough idiots who will buy it.”

Those were the words of Johan de Nysschen, president of Audi of America, who recently spoke (quite candidly) to Lawrence Ulrich in MSN Autos about the Chevrolet Volt. Early estimates for the price of the Volt are around $40,000, and Mr. de Nysschen said that he doesn’t see many people paying that much for a car that competes with small compacts, which top out at around $25,000. He called the the Chevy plug-in hybrid “a car for idiots.”

Mr. de Nysschen was clearly making a point, as Mr. Ulrich, a frequent contributor to The New York Times’ Automobiles section, goes on to explain:

De Nysschen expressed frustration with regulators and policy makers, saying the public has been hoodwinked into believing that E.V.’s are the only answer to global warming. The U.S. government, he said, is pouring billions of dollars into E.V. technology, yet diesel technology could deliver a more immediate and dramatic decrease in global-warming emissions. And the man knows of what he speaks: Modern diesels already power half of Audi’s cars in Europe and have helped Audi dominate recent runnings of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Diesels have been shown to emit 25 percent less carbon dioxide than gasoline engines, while using 25 to 35 percent less fuel.

Audi and Volkswagen have never been abashed about their push for diesel. Stefan Jacoby, the president and chief executive of the VW Group of America, has also criticized proponents of electric vehicles and hybrid technology.

The Myths and Realities of the American Cities and Suburbs

Let me have my horse, my car, my privacy and my work from home. That is ever so much more environmentally friendly than the 'greenie' prospect set forth by the new-old 'urban planners.' They demand I board some form of public (usually on rails) transportation that won't take me where I want to go or go when I want to.

Planners are conning us!

The last five Census data shows just the opposite of what urban planners were predicting and now demanding. Most of their mendacious rhetoric is in the guise of reducing our 'carbon footprint.' It is all part of the ever growing cronyism that is scamming America.

12-13-11

Joel Kotkin of NewGeography.com joins Glenn Reynolds to discuss the future of the American suburb. Kotkin thinks that the death of the suburb is greatly exaggerated, and asks why urban planners are so eager to throw people into dense living conditions. What do ideas of suburbs and urban living tell us about preconceptions of class? Find out.

Yet Al Gore can predict Global Warming for the coming century -Hurricane predictors admit they can’t predict hurricanes

We knew that. On the East Coast you have to call the state to the west of you to find out what your weather will be the next day. Tornadoes and hurricanes are just too unpredictable. Patterns help with warnings, but there is little precision.
However, all seeing Al Gore, the UN, the Durban South Africa Conference delegates and the IPCC insist they have the crystal balls to foretell the weather and global temperature for the future.

Hurricane predictors admit they can’t predict hurricanes
Monday, December 12, 2011
By Tom Spears
full short article

Two top U.S. hurricane forecasters, revered like rock stars in Deep South hurricane country, are quitting the practice because it doesn’t work.

William Gray and Phil Klotzbach say a look back shows their past 20 years of forecasts had no value.

The two scientists from Colorado State University will still discuss different probabilities as hurricane seasons approach — a much more cautious approach. But the shift signals how far humans are, even with supercomputers, from truly knowing what our weather will do next.

Gray, recently joined by Klotzbach, has been known for decades for an annual forecast of how many hurricanes can be expected each official hurricane season (which runs from June to November.) Southerners hang on his words, as even a mid-sized hurricane can cause billions in damage.

Last week, the pair dropped this announcement out of a clear, blue sky:

“We are discontinuing our early December quantitative hurricane forecast for the next year ... Our early December Atlantic basin seasonal hurricane forecasts of the last 20 years have not shown real-time forecast skill even though the hindcast studies on which they were based had considerable skill.”

Climate Corruption 101

The Constant Con!
Posted By Claudia Rosett On December 8, 2011
Climate Corruption 101:

Never mind where you might stand on the question of global warming, global cooling, climate change or plain old weather. If there’s one constant to this entire climate debate, it is that in the name of “climate,” the United Nations wishes to regulate and tax the economy of the planet — stripping resources from the most productive economies to hand them out as assorted UN bureaucrats deem fit.

This is an agenda for global central planning — which, at the extreme, is what the Soviet Union envisioned as the radiant future of mankind, at least until the USSR itself collapsed as a basket case of monstrously misallocated resources, pervaded by the nightmare repression required to enforce such a system. Nonetheless, at the UN this agenda keeps coming up, year after year, at one climate conference after another. The proclamations of emergency have varied, but always, in the middle of it, there is the UN, proposing to serve as planner and traffic cop for global commerce — a role that entails the UN aiming to redirect resources and collecting a cut to cover the administrative enterprises of its own neo-colonial empire of agencies, organizations, intergovernmental outfits, programs and special envoys. Somehow that already includes a need for climate conferees to travel great distances at other people’s expense, with UN officials touching down from business class long-haul flights to spend a week, or maybe two, conferring at luxury hotels in locations such as Rio, Copenhagen, Cancun and Bali.

Right now, at the UN Climate Change Conference in Durban, South Africa, they’re at it again, conferring for a fortnight. There, they are trying to design a “Green Climate Fund,” hoping to impose some form of global taxes that would bring in some $100 billion per year, to be redistributed to countries the UN decides are most at risk from change in climate. Reports have been emerging that the UN is eyeing a “carbon” tax on shipping, or international financial transactions, or cross-border aviation. Of course, this would raise the cost of commerce for everyone, so there is a further proposal, reports AFP, to use some of the money to compensate developing countries, at the expense of the most productive countries, for the higher costs. Such an arrangement would presumably require yet more intervention from the UN, since someone would have to decide which countries should be compensated, and to what extent — presumably a changing scene, as economic shifts occur — and of course there would be a need for more international bureaucrats to administer such a scheme. It’s also a good bet that more UN bureaucrats would also devote some of their time to coming up with yet more global tax schemes. The possibilities are staggering.

As a recipe for corruption of monumental scope, this is brilliant. It would open money spigots on a scale the UN to date has only dreamt of. A direct tax on global trade — in whatever form (shipping, aviation or finance) would free the UN from such inconveniences as drumming up voluntary but finite contributions from member states, or operating with a budget somewhat constrained by assessed dues. Not since the UN’s Oil-for-Food program tapped right into a 2.2% cut of the late Saddam Hussein’s oil sales has the UN had such access to rivers of cash… except this is bigger. Much bigger. Tapping directly into global trade would dwarf Saddam’s billions in oil revenues.

Just like the Global Warming Hoax, Durban Climate Meeting Drags On - Durbanhagen Anyone?

Durban Climate Meeting Drags On - Durbanhagen Anyone? - Hit & Run : Reason Magazine
| December 10, 2011
Full short post

Durban, South Africa – The 17th conference of the parties (COP-17) to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change was supposed end on Friday, December 9. However, COP-17 is still hung up on three main issues: (1) will countries agree to a “roadmap” for future negotiations being pushed by the European Union that commits them to begin hammering out “a Protocol or other legally binding instruments or arrangements for the period after 2020" and that would apply to all countries; (2) will the Europeans agree to a second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol in which they cut further their greenhouse gas emissions; and (3) will the COP launch a Green Climate Fund designed to redistribute billions in climate change aid from rich countries to poor ones.

The latest rumors are that the conference could go into Sunday morning or that it could be simply adjourned with a decision to continue discussions at a meeting in Bonn in May. If the meeting is adjourned until later that would represent a bigger "collapse" than the 2009 climate conference in Copenhagen. Too early to say which way it’s going.

Confessions of a Light Bulb Addict - Thomas Edison’s incandescent light bulb, shall be regulated into oblivion.

The real truth:
"All this has been ably exposed as an act of crony capitalism, designed to enrich manufacturers who prefer to sell pricier light bulbs that a lot of Americans"
The time has come to curtail the Legislative, the Executive and Judicial Branches of government from their continued onslaught of disastrous and perennial tyrannies they bring.
Say NO! Fire Them!

The Rosett Report » Confessions of a Light Bulb Addict
November 27, 2011 - 2:37 am - by Claudia Rosett

Americans being an enterprising band, it is of course possible that the country will develop bootleg markets in incandescents. Though I would recommend against such law-breaking. The federal government may not have control of America’s borders, but in Washington such stuff as border security can’t hold a candle to having control of America’s light bulbs. Presumably, federal authorities will now be spending U.S. tax dollars (excuse me — “creating jobs”) to deploy light bulb cops. In years ahead, if you haven’t amassed a private stash of the old incandescents, and find yourself yearning for their comfortable glow after the sun goes down, you may have to head overseas and comb the developing world for someplace where people are still free to choose what bulbs they sell and buy.

But I promised you the confessions of a light bulb addict, and so far I have mainly been talking about the drawbacks of the incandescent ban. So here begins the real confession. Never mind the crony capitalism, or the latest news ofClimategate 2.0, or the simple ornery pleasure of exercising free will to choose how I individually will spend my scarce resources to light the night. I surrender. I give in. The federal government says this is for my own good. Washington can choose my ideal energy efficiency tradeoffs much better than I can do it for myself.

Climate Hoax Scam Reveal! Second leak of climate emails: Political giants weigh in on bias, scientists bowing to financial pressure from sponsors

Strange how this news just kind of hides, isn't it?

Second leak of climate emails: Political giants weigh in on bias, scientists bowing to financial pressure from sponsors | Mail Online
By ROB WAUGH 25th November 2011
Climategate scientists DID collude with government officials to hide research that didn't fit their apocalyptic global warming
5,000 leaked emails reveal scientists deleted evidence that cast doubt on claims climate change was man-made
Experts were under orders from US and UK officials to come up with a 'strong message'
Critics claim: 'The stink of intellectual corruption is overpowering'
Scientist asks, 'What if they find that climate change is a natural fluctuation? They'll kill us all'

More than 5,000 documents have been leaked online purporting to be the correspondence of climate scientists at the University of East Anglia who were previously accused of ‘massaging’ evidence of man-made climate change.

Following on from the original 'climategate' emails of 2009, the new package appears to show systematic suppression of evidence, and even publication of reports that scientists knew to to be based on flawed approaches.

And not only do the emails paint a picture of scientists manipulating data, government employees at the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) are also implicated.

One message appeared to show a member of Defra staff telling colleagues working on climate science to give the government a ‘strong message’.

The emails paint a clear picture of scientists selectively using data, and colluding with politicians to misuse scientific information.

Saberpoint: Newt Gingrich? Never. Rick Perry? Fuhgedaboutit.

Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) is at the crux of the hoax perpetrated on us by rent seeking and control driven government and international parasites. What anthropogenic global warming factors were in play before the 14th Century and the Little Ice Age? Ox carts, chariots, fireplaces, wine production in Britain, Viking raids perhaps?

Saberpoint: Newt Gingrich? Never. Rick Perry? Fuhgedaboutit.

November 10, 2011

Newt's stand on man-made global warming (AGW) and how that turns off a lot of conservatives. Gingrich replied that he does not study what conservative positions to take or to espouse when he debates or when he is interviewed, then indicated that he still believes in man-made global warming. He said he acknowledges that "a minority of scientists" are skeptics about AGW.

Horse manure, the majority of climate scientists do not believe in man-made global warming, according to what I have read. Gingrich's stand on AGW means that I can not support him and I will not vote for him in the primaries. Would he be a better president than Obama? Who wouldn't?

It never existed as anthropogenic warming anyway! Global warming is over, says expert

Express.co.uk - Home of the Daily and Sunday Express | Express Yourself :: Global warming is over, says expert

By Julie Carpenter 11-2-11

T'S one of the hottest feuds in science - climate chance zealots insist that we're still destroying the planet but now another scientist has warned the cast-iron evidence just isn't there.

"Global Warming has Stopped!"

FOR a minute there it seemed the global warming debate had finally been resolved.

While for years scientists and sceptics have raged against each other on the crucial topic, new research hailed “the most definitive study into temperature data gathered by weather stations over the past half-century” seemed to come to an authoritative conclusion.

Global warming IS real it said, strengthening the need for us all to reduce carbon emissions and boost efforts to try to save the planet.

And this research was headed by a physicist who had previously been a sceptic of global warming and an outspoken critic of the science underpinning it, lending the results even greater credibility.
