Here is how part of the Toyota "problem" now appears to be a low-down con game with shiftless actors, lawyers, congress, experts and news-grabbers all hawking phony tales of runaway cars with defective acceleration from a bad, unresponsive, manufacturer and subsequent cover-up.
The press, looking for a fast easy story and congress finding a show trial have conspired to waste a whole lot of time and money. The worst of it all is that it gets out into the public mind with all its sensationalism, then sticks forever, while the real story languishes like a mute defendant in an unseen dungeon.
