Kennedy Center Gets a Pot of Gold on the Cheap and Dirty
Not to worry though. It's lefty connected President, Deborah Rutter, still gets her annual $1.2 million cut.
Just to make sure she stays fat and in the dough, she laid off the National Symphony Orchestra’s 96 musicians without pay.
Now that is simultaneous social justice warfare and social distancing.

Hospital Check-In
Amazingly, the parking lot is nearly empty. Usually it's full and sometimes overloaded with cars parked illegally.
I get off the elevator on the third floor. The door across the hall that has always been open, is now closed. There is a table setup with two nurses sitting behind it. They ask my name. Then ask, been out of the country in the last two weeks, out of the state, any cough, runny nose, tightness breathing?
Answer was no to all.
Then my temperature is taken. It seemed to take a long time to register a reading. Finally, 97.6 degrees.
I go into the post surgery reception behind the doors. They recognize me. My blood test prescriptions were sent downstairs to surgery and lab checkin.
Back downstairs. At the checkin desk no temperature, but the same questions plus one.
Have you been in New York City in the past two weeks?
No. But I had been thinking about going there just to see what the metropolis looked like void of people. I lived there years ago. It was busy, but not overwhelming to me. I bet the streets looked clear as they would have in the 1920s.
I was given my hospital wristband and walked down to the lab to get my blood tests.

NOW THAT BRITAIN IS FREE FROM THE EU DICTATES
That would mean having distances in miles (most still are), lengths in feet and inches, 12 hour clocks, liquid in pints, quarts and gallons, meat and produce in pounds and ounces and temperature in Fahrenheit. These were based on ancient human measurement and scale, not concoctions from the French Revolution.
Metric can remain for medicine and chemicals (and drug dealers).
Make the exit complete!

DON'T STEP BACK!
My guide took me to an open air food market in Shenzhen, China. This was in the last century when it was still a provincial border outpost of, what was then, Canton Province. At that time, they were still calling Peking, Peking.

The Lying Red Chinese - Our Enemy - They Created It and Spread the Chinese Coronavirus
The media are corrupt toadies carrying the dirty water for the PRC Commies.
Take a quick look at how major virus breakouts were named in the past:
Marburg virus - 1967 first discovered in Marburg Germany
MERS - 2012 Middle Eastern respiratory syndrome
Ebola - 1976 near the Ebola River in the Congo, Africa
Spanish Influenza - 1918 it was publicized first in Spain
Spanish Flu spread through the WWI troops in Europe. It was a world pandemic by that time. It then resurged the following year in 1919, eventually killing around 575,000 Americans. My father spoke of getting the Spanish Flu when he was a boy. His was a doctor, but he got it, so did his mother. Thankfully the all survived it. Everyone then was wearing cotton face masks. Some were quarantined, but too many of the infected were named into hospital wards. That spread the flu even more.
Viruses are typically named following the custom of naming viruses after the location of their first recorded outbreak. Yet now the Chinese Commies are trying to get the name Spanish Flu expunged from their PC caddies at Wikipedia. Do not allow this Orwellian censorship!
The Chinese Virus name list now includes Flu Manchu, Kung Flu, Corona Beer Virus, Yellow Peril, Chinese Corona Virus, Wuhan Virus, ChiCom Virus, Mao Flu, etc....
Stay Well!

Sheltering in Place - Self Imposed Quarantine
There is a strong possibility that we should be less fearful of the "Coronavirus, Chinese Virus, Wuhan Virus, or “Kung Flu,” for mortality than we should be from each other. We may go back to Chaucer, who noted that "Familiarity Breeds Contempt" in his "Tale of Melibee".
Right now in the US and Territories, from CDC numbers, there are 7,038 Corona infected patients and 97 deaths.
There could be many more deaths from the ancillary cause of being forced to live with people we usually only see part of the time. Quite suddenly we are on top of one another day in and day out. Nerves get raw in a raw situation, especially when there are enforced limited options as to where we may go to escape, if only temporarily.
I wonder which will have a greater toll?

A Belated Congratulation is In Order - Brexit
The UK finally broke their shackles from the proto-Commie-Fsacist European Union (EU). With every passing year the EU usurped and squeezed the rights and control from all its member states. All the power ended up in the hands of faceless, unelected, indifferent, micro-regulating, power and tax grubbing bureaucrats who were answerable to no one.
It is ironic when comparing maps of the Nazi control over Europe at its zenith to the map of the EU today. They almost match.
Happy Independence Day Great Briton!

I was hospitalized, operated on and lost interest
I was in one of my doctor's waiting rooms today. The nurses and receptionist were wearing face masks.
An older woman came into to the office. She immediately started to pump the hand sanitizer on the table. Then she asked if they had any extra masks. They did and gave her one, maybe more.
She put the mask on and sat down. Then she started to stare at me.
I wasn't wearing a mask. I was just reading the paper from the waiting room table, minding my own business.
As I turned the pages, I noticed she was still staring at me.
So I looked her in the eye and wiped my nose with my bare hand.
She stopped staring at me.
