Trump to appear at N.J. GOP fundraiser, mostly as a favor to Christie - The Washington Post

Donald Trump will appear at a fundraiser for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and the state Republican Party on May 19, according to three people familiar with the event.

Most of the proceeds will go toward retiring the campaign debt of Christie’s unsuccessful presidential bid, the people said.

While the gathering is not being coordinated with the Republican National Committee, it marks one of the first instances of Trump making an effort to raise money as the party’s presumptive nominee.
