Former NYC mayor wants to bring nanny state nationwide.  

Is America ready for a president concerned about the size of your soda or the amount of sodium that is in food donated to the homeless? Michael Bloomberg hopes so.

The billionaire media mogul who was mayor of New York City from January 2002 until December 2013 is looking at a run for the White House, according to The Financial Times. Like another billionaire candidate, Bloomberg was a lifelong Democrat until he saw opportunity and switched to being a Republican in a successful attempt to replace the popular and outgoing Rudy Giuliani as NYC's top political boss.

In an interview with FT, Bloomberg admits for the first time that he is considering all options and has a team looking at plans;
"I find the level of discourse and discussion distressingly banal and an outrage and an insult to the voters," Mr Bloomberg said in an interview, before adding that the US public deserved "a lot better." 
And Bloomberg thinks he is better, even though a poll done by his own Bloomberg news organization and the Des Moines Register found that just 9% of Republicans in Iowa and 17% of Democrats had favorable views of Hizzoner.

Bloomberg, who fancies himself an independent now, made nationwide  headlines with attempts to ban large soda drinks from being sold in New  York and other nanny state measures. Since leaving office Bloomberg has devoted a lot of time and millions of his own dollars to support the push for greater gun control.
In keeping with what Donald Trump would
label "New York values," Bloomberg is also reliably pro-abortion and supports many other liberal causes. ...
