British father’s incredible seven-month, 7,400-mile journey as he becomes the first person ever to row solo across the Pacific Ocean (and the first thing he asks for is a Ginger Nut biscuit!)

'I didn't realise the Pacific was going to be so difficult. I have peered right over the edge a few times,' he told the paper. 
After leaving San Francisco, he rowed south of Hawaii, through the South Sea Islands by the Coral Sea and past the Great Barrier Reef to Cairns. 
Mr Beeden lost 25lbs during his journey, despite being on a 4,000-calories-a-day diet (including a fair few of his favourite ginger biscuits). 
After stepping off his 19ft boat on Saturday, Mr Beeden said: ‘To be the first person to achieve something on this scale is incredible really.
'I haven’t processed it yet. Every day there was some massive challenge.’
Mr Beeden told Sky News he had rowed for 15 hours a day during the challenge, which took 209 days.
‘Every day there was some massive challenge,’ he said. ‘It was 10, 15, 100 times harder than I thought it would be.
