Hillary Clinton climbed the stage Saturday to Sara Bareilles’ lyrics from “Brave,” notably “Honestly I wanna see you be brave.”
She wasn’t.
“America can’t succeed unless you succeed. That’s why I’m running for President of the United States,” she declared with a banality that melded with a poised, well-articulated laundry list of mostly long-held liberal Democratic positions.
In a world with a fetish for the new, her strengths and weakness were clear: She is vastly experienced and savvy but she’s not new.
