Why is the the US Population, and Now the World, So Much Heavier?

Better not tell the idiot US Rep. Hank Johnson. He'll think the continents will capsize.
There may be something to the problem of fast growth hormones in the food supply that is leading to the obesity problem over the last several decades. Not to mention that we are not generally as physically active as we once were required to be. m/r

REPORT: Fat Army Recruits In The South Are A National Security Risk

Jonah Bennett 1-11-18

The Army draws a disproportionate number of recruits from the South, a region of the country known for high rates of obesity and physical inactivity, which represents a threat to both national security and military readiness.
An Army college in Charleston, S.C., found that recruits from states in the South are usually in poorer physical condition than recruits from other states, according to a study from The Citadel published Tuesday. The findings are not especially surprising given that the South in general is known for higher rates of physical inactivity and obesity.
The difficulty, however, is that the Army ends up recruiting a high percentage of soldiers from southern states.
Researchers discovered that Army recruits from the ten state cluster of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas are significantly less fit and more likely to suffer injuries during training. For example, training-related injuries (TRIs) increased by 22 percent for males and 28 percent for females from these states, compared to the rest of the country.

IT TURNS OUT BANNON WAS TRUMP’S BRAIN

In order to prove he doesn't have dementia, as alleged in a recent book, President Trump called a meeting with congressional leaders on Tuesday -- and requested that it be televised.

Ivanka: Show them at your best, Daddy!

He then proceeded to completely sell out the base and actually added to his problems by appearing senile.

In a half-dozen exchanges -- which, again, he wanted televised -- Trump responded to remarks as if he had no clue what the person was saying. One senator would talk -- he'd agree. Someone else would say the exact opposite -- he'd agree with that, too.

Actual exchange:

SEN. DIANNE FEINSTEIN: "What about a clean DACA bill now, with a commitment that we go into a comprehensive immigration reform procedure? ..."

TRUMP: "... I have no problem. ... We're going to come up with DACA. We're going to do DACA, and then we can start immediately on the phase two, which would be comprehensive."

Switzerland Rejects Citizenship Bids of Residents Who Have Been on Welfare

by Chris Tomlinson  10 Jan 2018

A new civil rights act has come into force in Switzerland that prevents residents who have been on welfare in the past three years from becoming citizens unless they pay back the money they received to the state.

The new regulations will make it impossible for asylum seekers and migrants who have lived off state handouts in the last three years to become citizens even if they have lived in Switzerland as permanent residents for the required time to make a citizenship application, Kronen Zeitung reports.
The previous law allowed migrants to apply for citizenship as long as they were not on state benefits at the time of their application.
Along with the welfare stipulation, the new act requires migrants to demonstrate a greater level of integration than before including making them prove they have a certain number of Swiss friends and acquaintances.

No Oprah! Haven’t we learned our lesson with celebrity candidates?

In 2006, Winfrey endorsed one of the most anti-intellectual products of the decade: a book and video called “The Secret,” which promises that anyone can have anything they want as long as they visualize it. Conversely, if tragedy or poverty befall you, it’s your fault. “The Secret” went on to sell 20 million copies internationally.
“I’m thrilled for the success of ‘The Secret,’ ” Winfrey told Larry King in 2007. “I think that the message needs to go further . . . it is very true that the way you think creates reality for yourself.”
That same year, a woman named Kim Tinkham appeared on Winfrey’s show. She had been diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer but had seen the episode touting “The Secret,” and decided to forgo chemo in favor of positive thinking. While Winfrey encouraged her to consider Western medicine as well, Tinkham declined.
She died in 2010.

Herr Mueller wants to set a trap- Ask the former partners at Arthur Andersen Accounting

It’s a Setup!… Mueller Seeks Interview With President Trump

President Trump’s legal team is preparing to deal with dirty cop Mueller’s request for an interview as his unconstitutional Russia witch hunt continues.

President Trump’s legal team is seeking to avoid a sit-down interview with Robert Mueller and may request a written affidavit instead, declaring he did not collude with the Russians during the 2016 election.
NBC News reported:
Lawyers for Trump have been discussing with FBI investigators a possible interview by the special counsel with the president as part of the inquiry into whether Trump’s campaign colluded with Russia during the 2016 election.
The discussions were described by one person with direct knowledge as preliminary and ongoing. Trump’s legal team is seeking clarification on whether the president would be interviewed directly by Mueller, as well as the legal standard for when a president can be interviewed, the location of a possible interview, the topics and the duration. But the president’s team is also seeking potential compromises that could avoid an interview altogether, two of those interviewed told NBC News.
