Andy and Amy Mangione of Louisville, Kentucky say their health insurance nearly tripled overnight from $333 a month to $965 due to Obamacare.
"When I saw the letter when I came home from work, it said 'your action required, benefit changes, act now.' Of course, I opened it immediately," said Andy Mangione.
Andy Mangione told Fox News veteran reporter Jim Angle that nothing had changed about the health of his wife, himself, or their two boys.
"This is a high deductible plan where I'm assuming a lot of risk for my health insurance for my family," Mangione told Fox News. "And nothing has changed, our boys are healthy—they're young—my wife is healthy. I'm healthy, nothing in our medical history has changed to warrant a tripling of our premiums."
The Mangiones's insurance company, Humana, declined to comment. Humana did, however, include the following explanation in the rate spike announcement letter:

The official enrollment period for the Affordable Care Act's "transformative" health care reforms - aka Obamacare - goes into effect on Tuesday October 1.
Here's are the five biggest things you need to know.
1. Obamacare won't stop premiums from rising. Premiums were rising before the health law, and Obamacare isn't going to change that. The law's biggest effect will be in the individual market, where, for some people, plans are likely to be significantly more expensive than individual market plans were before the law — even, in some cases, after the application of taxpayer-funded subsidies.
2. Employers will drop benefits and reduce hours. Obamacare's rules forcing employers to cover employees working more than 30 hours a week will push some companies to trim hours and create more part-time staff. This is already happening, including one case where an Obamacare call center made sure its many of its workers were part-timers! It's likely that several million people will transition from their current employer insurance to the exchanges. Some estimates say the numbers could be even higher, which would mean that taxpayers end up shelling out for more subsidies.
3. Don't expect the exchanges to work smoothly. The administration has failed to hit many of Obamacare's implementation deadlines so far and its likely that the law's insurance exchanges aren't ready for primetime. Online enrollment is definitely being delayed in at least one state — Oregon. Reports are surfacing that the pricing mechanism isn't working right in the federal exchanges that will be running in 34 states.
4. Health care entitlements are still the nation's biggest fiscal problem. Over the next 25 years, federal spending on "major health care programs" is expected to rise from about 4.6 percent of the economy to about 8 percent. About a quarter of that rise is specifically due to Obamacare. More than anything else, federal spending on programs such as Medicare - and now Obamacare - is why spending patterns are unsustainable.
5. Don't expect the law to be delayed or defunded. Republicans in Congress have been making a big fuss to defund or delay Obamacare. But congressional options for killing Obamacare are slim right now. There are still some legal challenges in the works that could impair the law but the smart money is that most of the law's provisions go forward as scheduled.

Senator Ted Cruz, who vowed to speak out against Obamacare on the Senate floor 'until I am no longer able to stand', has slogged his way into a second day and shows no sign of relenting after speaking for more than 17 hours.
Cruz, who began at 2.41pm on Tuesday, is continuing his crusade to deny funding for Obama's overhaul of the U.S. healthcare system, branding it the country's 'biggest jobs killer'.
With no sign of stopping, Cruz has so far navigated disparate topics including the American revolution, sending a man to the moon, his Cuban-born father and the impact of the health care law.
And in more bizarre moments, he recited an edited version of Dr. Zeus' 'Green Eggs and Ham' poem and compared the fight against Obamacare to the battle against the Nazis.
In surpassing the 16 hour and 12 minute mark this morning, Cruz and his allies notched up the fifth longest occupation of the floor since precise record-keeping began in 1900.

At the end of John Ford’s classic Western, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, the editor of the local paper decides not to print the truth about who really killed the murderous Valance. “When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.”
Legends now become facts in America at almost lightning speed. Often when lies are asserted as truth, they become frozen in time. Even the most damning later exposure of their falsity never quite erases their currency. As Jonathan Swift sighed, “Falsehood flies, and the truth comes limping after it.”
After the recent shooting tragedy at the Washington Navy Yard, cable news shows, newspaper reports, and talking heads immediately blasted lax gun laws. The killer, Aaron Alexis, had mowed down 20 innocent people — twelve of them fatally — with yet again the satanic AR-15 semi-automatic “assault” rifle. The mass murdering was supposedly more proof of the lethal pathologies of the National Rifle Association and the evil shooter crowd that prevents good people from enacting proper gun-control laws. Once more an iconic tragedy had the chance — in a way that eventhe near-simultaneous shooting of 13 in Chicago did not — to energize the nation to do the right thing and ensure that no other such mayhem would follow.
Then the assault weapon vanished into fantasy. Instead, over the course of the week, it was slowly learned that the unhinged Alexis had somehow passed at least two background checks, legally bought a shotgun, modified it, and for 30 minutes shot and reloaded it to slaughter the innocent. Are we to outlaw the owning of shotguns despite background checks and lawful purchases? Vice President Joe Biden, remember, had recently urged Americans to obtain old-fashioned, all-American shotguns for protection rather than dangerous semi-automatic assault rifles. If a shotgun could be used to commit mass murder in the middle of a military installation, how could any gun-control law, short of the confiscation of all guns, ensure that such heinous crimes could not be repeated?
