While the Obama Administration continues their pressure on Israel, for at least Joe Biden, it is not the first time that there has been animosity with an Israeli leader.  The reality is that while some of the names change, this conflict is about Israel’s refusal to surrender to a Palestinian Arab enemy who seeks to destroy the Jewish nation.

The United States is wrong to pressure Israel – yet, this too shall pass.

History often repeats itself.

On June 22 1982, Joe Biden was a Senator from Delaware and confronted then Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin during his Senate Foreign Relations committee testimony, threatening to cut off aid to Israel.

Begin forcefully responded,

“Don’t threaten us with cutting off your aid. It will not work. I am not a Jew with trembling knees. I am a proud Jew with 3,700 years of civilized history. Nobody came to our aid when we were dying in the gas chambers and ovens. Nobody came to our aid when we were striving to create our country. We paid for it. We fought for it. We died for it. We will stand by our principles. We will defend them. And, when necessary, we will die for them again, with or without your aid.”

As media reports that the United States Government continues to pressure Israel, America must respect the will of the Israeli public, whom overwhelmingly re-electedBenjamin Netanyahu.

In my forthcoming book, “Scarlet Letters: The Ever-Increasing Intolerance of the Cult of Liberalism Exposed,” I address the emergence of what I call “progressive neo-puritanism.”

With the exception of Islam, an unlikely ally in the rainbow coalition, this may well be the most judgmental, vengeful, unforgiving quasi-religious cult in the Western world today.

In the past week, the good citizens of Indiana got branded with a scarlet H by the most judgmental and vengeful of all the neo-puritan sub-cults, the gay rights sect.

Oregon’s Melissa and Aaron Klein understood full well what Indiana lawmakers were hoping to accomplish. The couple used to operate a storefront bakeshop, Sweet Cakes by Melissa, in metropolitan Portland.

In February 2013, these Christian parents of five refused to bake a wedding cake for a lesbian couple. The lesbians promptly filed a civil rights complaint against the Kleins, and their supporters set out to cripple their business.

Their tactics included death threats, vandalizing the bakery’s vehicle on several occasions, and the intimidation of the clients and vendors listed on the shop’s website.

“They have an odd way of showing tolerance,” quipped Aaron of his local neo-puritans. Overwhelmed, the Kleins moved their business home but were unable to list their phone number due to the constant harassment.

—- President Obama, after his 2013 visit in Senegal to a former slave fort used in the Trans-Atlantic slave trade.

As uplifting as these words may sound, President Obama’s “motivation” and vigilance “in defense of human rights around the world,” at least in regard to the enslavement of black Africans, apparently ends with the now defunct Trans-Atlantic slave trade. For once again, the Obama administration has shamefully failed to raise a loud voice against the persecution and imprisonment of anti-slavery activists in the world’s worst slave state, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

The United Nations (UN) human rights office earlier this month called for a review of the conviction of a remarkable and fearless Mauritanian anti-slavery activist, Biram Ould Dah Abeid, who, like Obama’s Kenyan relatives, is black African.  Biram and two others were sentenced to two years in prison last January, according to Amnesty International (AI), for having staged a demonstration last November “to raise the awareness about land rights for people of slave descent (land slavery).”

“In Mauritania, slave descendants who work on land without any rights are forced to give a portion of crops to their masters,” AI stated in a press release. “…The conviction of these activists for taking part in peaceful protests on charges which are vague and open to abuse violates their human rights to free expression and freedom of peaceful assembly.”

The reported charges against the three men included “inciting rebellion, threatening public order, belonging to an illegal organization, and participation in an unauthorized public gathering.” A UN human rights spokesman stated the decision to prosecute the men on at least one of the charges “appears to be arbitrary and unjustified.”

Mauritania is located in West Africa and is Senegal’s neighbor. In 2013, the Global Slavery Index granted Mauritania the dubious distinction of ranking it number one in the world for the prevalence of slavery there, indicating the extent of the tragedy. There is currently an estimated 300,000 to 500,000 chattel slaves in the country, believed to be the highest number in the world. All are black African, while their masters are Arabs and Berbers.

Gov. Jerry Brown, standing on a patch of brown grass in the
Sierra Nevada that is usually covered with several feet of snow at this time of
year, on Wednesday announced the first mandatory water restrictions in
California history.

"It's a different world," he said. "We have
to act differently."

Brown was on hand Wednesday as state officials took stock of
historically abysmal levels of snowpack in the Sierra Nevada amid the state's
grinding drought. It was the first time that a governor attended the measuring
event, which has taken place at Lake Tahoe since 1942.

The Border Patrol Should be able to Do Its Job On the Border. If Obama and the Politicians would allow Illegal aAliens to be Stopped and Deported as they try to cross the border, then there would be no need for internal checks where Citizens' have every right to refuse to stop or be asked any questions.

Some Americans are refusing to answer questions at Border Patrol checkpoints set up many miles away from U.S. borders, believing the questions posed by Border Patrol agents are unacceptable for law abiding citizens.

Many of these protestors are also using their dashboard cameras to record their encounters with agents, some of whom have resorted to breaking windows, dragging motorists from their vehicles and detaining them, according to The Houston Chronicle.

The newspaper reports “these travelers are among the latest to join what appears to be an informal alliance of people, possibly into the hundreds, recording their encounters at Border Patrol checkpoints,” and that “some of the travelers appear to be making a stand for what they say are their rights and contend that the government, which has long drawn support for doing whatever is needed to protect the nation's borders, is going too far.”

These checkpoints are not at international points of entry to the U.S. nor necessarily within close proximity to the U.S. border, but farther inland, within a 100-mile distance of U.S. borders and coasts. It has been estimated that between 34 and 170 such checkpoints exist inland from the U.S.-Mexico border.
