Government Inefficiency vs. Private Enterprise

Here is a film clip from "Wells Fargo." It was made in 1937 in the middle of the "New Deal." It is about the the beginning of private express over inept Government Mail in the 1940s. Government inefficiency, corruption and ruthless arrogance hasn't changed much. It was humorously characterized in this clip. m/r

This Frank Lloyd Western from 1937 begins in the (apparently) frontier town of Batavia, New York. Similarities to actual 1800's Batavia is questionable -- all filming was actually done in California. This four-minute clip includes the beginning titles & credits, and ends as our protagonist charges westward towards Buffalo and beyond.
