Tens of thousands of Australians and New Zealanders turned out to honour
their war dead, with moving tributes to fallen mates and calls not to forget
those injured in conflict. The commemorations are held every year on the
April 25 anniversary of the ill-fated 1915 landing of the Australian and New
Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) at Gallipoli in modern-day Turkey during World
War I.
