Food has been "Genetically Modified" for Centuries - General Mills Starts Making Some Cheerios Without GMOs

Political and environmental nut-cases just can't, or won't, understand that humans have been selectively breeding plants and animals, to fit our needs and wants, since pre-historic domestication began.

A good example is the horse. Horses (more specially the Thoroughbred) were bred for a longer stride and tend to be taller overall this century than the were over a hundred years ago. 
Originally Modern man had a two path strategy for pre-historic horses. In the Americas, the ancient horse was hunted by the natives into extinction. In EurAsia, the horses were bred into a taller, useful animal that was the basis for transportation beyond foot travel until the 19th Century. m/r
