The local NJ TV News must have slipped up, because it was noted in the paper's comment section that they had described the suspects as black. Ever wonder why the NJ and NY Unsolved Murders is well over 40%? This poor young wife, her husband was just killed by these scum for their car and the worthless PC News is protecting the murderers because they are black! Instead of describing the suspects, several of the reports just gave a short list of past local mall carjackings and mall crimes. This has become a sick country with a sicker, stupid press. m/r

NEWARK, New Jersey (Reuters) - Police on Monday were seeking an armed pair of suspected carjackers who a day earlier shot to death a man Christmas shopping with his wife at a high-end New Jersey mall and then fled in the couple's luxury SUV, prosecutors said.

The couple had walked out of the Mall at Short Hills in Millburn, New Jersey, not far from New York City, at about 9:10 p.m. EST on Sunday (0210 GMT on Monday), and headed for the parking deck, where the man opened the door of their 2012 silver Range Rover for his wife. As he approached the driver's door, he was confronted by a gunman, said Thomas Fennelly, chief assistant prosecutor for Essex County.

The 30-year-old man, a resident of nearby Hudson County whose identity was not released, was shot in the head, acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray said at a news conference. The man was pronounced dead at 11:45 p.m. (0445 GMT) at Morristown Medical Center, Fennelly said.

The man's wife was not hurt, Murray said.

After the shooting, the gunman and an accomplice fled in the Range Rover, and were believed to be headed east on State Route 24 toward Interstate 78 in New Jersey, prosecutors said.
