Bad Luck for the Bitch of Benghazi is of Her Own Making!

She racked up thousands and thousands of travel miles nothing to show but photo-ops and expenses, she said nothing (except lies) and may be complicit in the manslaughter of four Americans: Ambassador Chris Stevens, Foreign Service officer Sean Smith and former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty. She has been totally incompetent throughout her tag-on "career" that included the preview to the failed Obamacare and her mendacity following Benghazi. She is mostly famous for blaming the "Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy" as responsible for Bill Clinton's perjury and BJ's, her unhygienic lifestyle and her bitchy tirades. The last was well exemplified during her melt-down behavior during her 'testimony' at the Senate Benghazi hearings.
And this bitch, the New York Times and a large part of the population thinks she should be president: Are they crazy? m/r

Richard Cohen: Hillary Clinton’s unlucky year - The Washington Post

By Published: December 30, 2013

It is incumbent on me as a columnist to do one of those year-end things — the 10 best of this, the 10 worst of that or, as you will see, who had the worst year in politics. That distinction goes, with some reluctance on my part, to Hillary Rodham Clinton. As has sometimes happened in her life, events got away from her.
A good politician, as Napoleon once said about military men, has to have luck — and this has not been a lucky year for Clinton. If she’s the next Democratic presidential candidate, she will have to follow a Democratic president whose approval ratings — once as high as 76 percent — are now scraping 40. As a former member of Barack Obama’s Cabinet, she has to defend the indefensible, kiss the ugly baby of Obamacare and smile for the cameras. She can do it — no one soldiers on better — but ugly is ugly, and the rollout of Obamacare has been just that.
[She is the ugliest! The rest of this article at the link is liberal dribble.]

Nazi-looted art found in German parliament: report

That degenerate art that was worth so much.
Art theft seems as a subheading of war and revolt. It is now one of the unspoken tragedies of the Arab Spring turned Winter in Egypt. Ancient relics are being unearth, stollen, and sold. We seem to not hear about this. It conflicts with the administration's sick narrative and coverup. m/r

Nazi-looted art found in German parliament: report - Yahoo News Canada

By Madeline Chambers 12-30-13
BERLIN (Reuters) - An art historian has found two art works stolen by the Nazis inside Germany's parliament, a newspaper reported on Monday, in a new embarrassment for authorities after a huge stash of looted art came to light last month.
The Bundestag, in a statement issued after the report in Bild newspaper, said an art historian was reviewing two "suspicious cases", but a spokesman would not confirm the find.
The art historian's investigations into the German parliament's art collection, which began in 2012, were continuing, the Bundestag spokesman said.
"It is unclear when there will be a result to the investigations," he said.
Last month German authorities revealed that a trove of Nazi-looted art, valued at 1 billion euros ($1.38 billion), had been found in a Munich apartment.
That collection had been held for decades by Cornelius Gurlitt, the elderly son of an art dealer of part-Jewish descent who was ordered by Hitler to buy up so-called 'degenerate art' and sell it to raise funds for the Nazis.

The Mike Bloomberg Legacy: 12 Years of Little Tyrannies in 2 Minutes! - YouTube
 Dec 30, 2013
After 12 years, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg leaves office on New Year's Day, 2014.

His legacy goes far beyond his nanny state war on cigarette smoke, salts and fat, but into his use of the NYPD (which he described as "his personal army") to spy on citizens and stop-and-frisk young men of color en masse, as well as his abuse of eminent domain to seize private property and hand it over to his fellow billionaire developers for massive vanity projects.

Reason TV takes a brief year-by-year look back at Mayor Bloomberg's most outrageous assaults on freedom of choice and civil liberties.

Wages of Weenie's 'There's no room for anything MANLY now': claims feminist Camille Paglia

The Baby Boomers started it. They remained Babies who morphed into the Weenie Generation. The male icons have followed suit ever since, becoming more effeminate with each passing decade.
An indicator is that amongst the strongest conservative advocates (i.e. with balls) are women and the biggest liberal consensus seekers are men. m/r

'There's no room for anything MANLY now': claims feminist Camille Paglia | Mail Online

'There's no room for anything manly now': Feminist writer Camille Paglia speaks out AGAINST the loss of masculine virtues and its negative impact on society

  • The self-described 'dissident feminist' believes society is neutering boys of their maleness at a young age
  • She also believes the lack of people with military experience in important positions is a recipe for disaster
  • An avid listener of sports radio, she believes these 'are the men that would save the nation'
  • 'Our culture doesn't allow women to know how to be womanly,' she said
  • Paglia also recently spoke out in favor of Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson and defended his right to free speech

Our society is neutering boys of their maleness at a young age, while the lack of people with military experience in important positions is a recipe for disaster, claims Camille Paglia, the controversial lesbian author and social critic.
Self-described ‘dissident feminist’ Paglia, 66, believes that attempts to deny the biological distinctions between men and women is to blame for the much that is wrong with modern society.
'What you're seeing is how a civilization commits suicide’ she told the Wall Street Journal.
Paglia, a professor at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, is well known for her critical views on many aspects of modern culture, including feminism and liberalism.

If only Al Gore were with them - MSM Glosses Over Irony of Global Warming Scientists Trapped in Antarctic Ice

Shackleton's ship Endurance breaking up in

It is Summer in Antarctica! Three ice breakers have failed to get close enough to save their freezing asses!
Are we paying for this? m/r

MSM Glosses Over Irony of Global Warming Scientists Trapped in Antarctic Ice | NewsBusters
By P.J. Gladnick | December 28, 2013 full short post - mostly quotes-

Somewhere far, far to the south where it is summer, a group of global warming scientists are trapped in the Antarctic ice. If you missed the irony of that situation, it is because much of the mainstream media has glossed over that rather inconvenient bit of hilarity. As an example here is an Associated Press story that avoids mentioning the real mission of the scientists aboard the icebound Russian ship:
The Snow Dragon icebreaker came within 7 miles (11 kilometers) of the Russian ship MV Akademik Shokalskiy, which has been stuck since Christmas Eve, but had to retreat after the ice became too thick, said expedition spokesman Alvin Stone.
The Akademik Shokalskiy, which has been on a research expedition to Antarctica, got stuck Tuesday after a blizzard's whipping winds pushed the sea ice around the ship, freezing it in place. The ship wasn't in danger of sinking, and there are weeks' worth of supplies for the 74 scientists, tourists and crew on board, but the vessel cannot move.
So what was the exact mission of these scientists? AP is rather vague about this reporting only:
The scientific team on board the research ship — which left New Zealand on Nov. 28 — had been recreating Australian explorer Douglas Mawson's century-old voyage to Antarctica when it became trapped. They plan to continue their expedition after they are freed, expedition leader Chris Turney said.
Um, there is a bit more to the expedition than merely following in the footsteps of a century-old voyage. But what that mission really is, AP won't say. If AP is vague about the mission's purpose, Reuters provides even less information.
Since the MSM isn't forthcoming as to the real purpose of those scientists traveling to Antarctica, we turn to Whats Up With That for more insight:
The expedition is being led by Chris Turney, “climate scientist”, who has “set up a carbon refining company called Carbonscape which has developed technology to fix carbon from the atmosphere and make a host of green bi-products, helping reduce greenhouse gas levels.” The purpose of the expedition is “to discover and communicate the environmental changes taking place in the south.”
It seems they found out what the “environmental changes taking place in the south.” are.
Finally, National Geographic bluntly states the mission purpose:
...The current crop of explorers are hoping to document some of the same data and compare them to Mawson's numbers, "using the twist of modern technology," Turney told National Geographic earlier this month.
As may be expected, global warming might play a role in this, he suggests, particularly with respect to melted ice in the East Antarctic.
Ah, so now we see why the MSM reluctance to flat out state why the scientists are in the Antarctic. Anything to avoid an inconvenient (but accurate) headline like this:
GLOBAL WARMING SCIENTISTS TRAPPED IN ANTARCTIC ICE

Just what they needed to murky things up a bit more: Afghan Independent Bar Association - Sharia's Protector

Sit back and drink Three Cups of Manure Tea. m/r

Sharia's Protector :: SteynOnline
National Review's Happy Warrior
December 27, 2013

Rohullah Qarizada is one of those Afghans you used to see a lot on American TV in the immediate aftermath of the Taliban's fall. Trimly bearded, dapper in Western suit and tie, he heads the Afghan Independent Bar Association in Kabul. Did you know Kabul had a bar association? A few years back, I ran into one of the U.S. prosecutors who helped set it up, with a grant from the Swedish foreign ministry. Mr. Qarizada currently sits on a committee charged with making revisions to the Afghan legal code. What kind of revisions? Well, for example: "Men and women who commit adultery shall be punished based on the circumstances by one of the following punishments: lashing, stoning."
As in stoning to death. That's the proposed improvement to Article 21. Article 23 specifies that said punishment shall be performed in public. Mr. Qarizada gave an interview to Reuters, explaining that the reintroduction of stoning was really no big deal: You'd have to have witnesses, and they'd better be consistent. "The judge asks each witness many questions," he said, "and if one answer differs from other witnesses then the court will reject the claim." So that's all right then.
Stoning is making something of a comeback in the world's legal codes — in October the Sultan of Brunei announced plans to put it on his books. Nevertheless, Kabul has the unique distinction of proposing to introduce the practice on America's watch. Afghanistan is an American protectorate; its kleptocrat president is an American client, kept alive these last twelve years only by American arms. The Afghan campaign is this nation's longest war — and our longest un-won war: That's to say, nowadays we can't even lose in under a decade. I used to say that, 24 hours after the last Western soldier leaves Afghanistan, it will be as if we were never there. But it's already as if we were never there: The last Christian church in the country was razed to the ground in 2010.

You are under arrest for everything! New laws in 2014: From tanning bed bans to 'lemon pets'

There are 40,000 new laws from last year as an estimate. Most of which we have no clue about, what they are or their consequences. The time has come to tell all these self important, useless 'regulators' to visit Felix Unger!

New laws in 2014: From tanning bed bans to 'lemon pets'
Greg Toppo  12-30-13

Illinois is also home to new laws prohibiting unmanned aerial drones.

If you're a pale 17-year-old in Illinois, get your indoor tanning sessions in now. Starting Wednesday, they're strictly forbidden.
A new state law takes effect Jan. 1 that bans anyone under 18 from using tanning salons in the Land of Lincoln. Illinois becomes the sixth state to keep teens out of the facilities, part of a growing trend of regulating tanning facilities to help reduce the risk of skin cancer, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), a Denver-based group that tracks lawmaking.
The new measure is one of an estimated 40,000 new laws, regulations and resolutions approved by state legislatures in 2013, many of which take effect Jan. 1. Among them:
• Arkansas voters must now show a photo ID at polling places, while Virginia voters for the first time will be able to register online.
• In Colorado, 16-year-olds will be able to pre-register to vote, but must still wait until they're 18 to vote.
• California students must be allowed to play school sports and use school bathrooms "consistent with their gender identity," regardless of their birth identity.
• In Oregon, new mothers will now be able to take their placentas home from the hospital — some experts say ingesting it has positive health benefits. Another new state law bans smoking in motor vehicles when children are present.
• Minimum-wage increases take effect in four northeastern states: Connecticut's rises to $8.70 an hour; New Jersey's to $8.25; and New York's and Rhode Island's to $8. In nine other states, the minimum wage rises automatically because it's indexed to inflation.

Refuseniks fight back against feds demanding papers

After a period of dithering, agents announced that a police dog had alerted to potential contraband in the vehicle. They instructed Anderson to pull over into a secondary inspection area. The pastor repeatedly refused, at which point a Border Patrol agent and a state police officer simultaneously broke both windows of his car and shot the pastor with Tasers from each side, delivering lengthy and repeated shocks while Anderson repeatedly screamed in agony.
The brutality was captured on video. Anderson's hand-held camera recorded events until moments after he was shocked, and CCTV footage captured much of what came afterward. In recorded testimony the following day, Anderson described how one of the agents involved with the incident shoved the pastor's head into the shards of broken window glass while dragging him from the car, and forced him to the ground. Other agents joined the action, with one repeatedly beating Anderson with a baton.

Northern California counties revive an old idea for a breakaway state - latimes.com

Tired of city-centric government control, rural Northern California counties consider separation — just as their forebears did.

December 28, 2013

YREKA, Calif. — Farmers, ranchers and onetime loggers were among those who packed a church community room here in August to listen to a former state lawmaker convey his vision of a cleaved — and more governable — California.
The theme was familiar, the resonance deep for those convinced that relentless regulation is strangling the economy of this northern border county. But this time, a tall man sporting a baseball cap stood up with a challenge.
Within two weeks, Baird had crafted a declaration in support of the breakaway State of Jefferson and placed it on the Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors agenda. It was approved a week later on a 4-1 vote.
And with that, a movement that has waxed and waned for 150 years was born again.
Neighboring Modoc County's supervisors soon clamored for a similar declaration, and also voted "yea"; the Tehama County board agreed to put the matter to voters; and organizing committees sprang up in seven other counties.
The State of Jefferson flag — which dates to a 1941 effort — is now flown from the Nevada border west to the Pacific Ocean and as far south as Yuba City. (It features a gold pan with two X's, for the double-crossing purportedly dealt to residents of Northern California and southern Oregon by their respective seats of state government.)

Obamacare Survives - Reason.com

The health law keeps failing—but stays alive anyway.

What neither side would have predicted was that the rollout would have gone so badly—and that the law would still be hanging on anyway, surviving, day by day and news cycle by news cycle, its political future and policy success as uncertain now as ever.
In broad strokes, the disastrous launch has vindicated the law’s critics. Although few predicted all the specific problems the law would have, the rollout was, if anything, worse than most dared to imagine. Almost nothing has gone well for the health law in 2013, which was supposed to be the year that its biggest benefits were introduced to the public. The first nine months of the year were marked by a series of delays: key provisions of the small business exchange, income verification requirements, and the employer mandate were all postponed. Democratic legislators voiced their growing anxieties about the exchange implementation process behind closed doors at the White House, and occasionally in public as well.
The administration dismissed such concerns, but in the last three months of the year, the skeptics were proved right. …

No Surprise, NY Times Still the Shill - House Intelligence chair: Benghazi attack 'Al Qaeda-led event'

One of the Biggest Press Shills for Obama-the-Liar and the Bitch of Benghazi has come up with the about same BS the White House lied about 9/11/12. That was when, after asking for help for hours and had given multiple warning about the Libya dangers, Ambassador Chris Stevens, Foreign Service officer Sean Smith and former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, were killed and then Obama and Clinton tried to cover up their murderous incompetence, while maintaining the AI Qaida's death fiction before the election. The NY Times has again tried to insult American's intelligence with their bias fiction of an "exhaustive" investigation that appears to have taken less time to research than to write this typically lengthy, boring, convoluted and mendacious story that was obviously designed to give cover to their messiah and fearful leader. m/r

House Intelligence chair: Benghazi attack 'Al Qaeda-led event' | Fox News

The 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya was an "Al Qaeda-led event" according to multiple on-the-record interviews with the head of the House Intelligence Committee who receives regular classified briefings and has access to the raw intelligence to make independent assessments.
"I will tell you this, by witness testimony and a year and a half of interviewing everyone that was in the ground by the way, either by an FBI investigator or the committee: It was very clear to the individuals on the ground that this was an Al Qaeda-led event. And they had pretty fairly descriptive events early on that lead those folks on the ground, doing the fighting, to the conclusion that this was a pre-planned, organized terrorist event," Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., told Fox News in a November interview.
"Not a video, that whole part was debunked time and time again," Rogers added of the attack which killed Ambassador Chris Stevens, Foreign Service officer Sean Smith and former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, "which just leads to questions of why the administration hung with that narrative for so long when all the folks who participated on the ground saw something different."
The comments challenged the findings of a New York Times "investigation" which pointed instead to local militias and claimed an anti-Islam video played a role in inciting the attackers.
Asked in November what might explain the initial narrative that an anti-Islam film triggered the attack, Rogers did not answer directly but said all evidence points to the State Department, whose leadership skirted the security requirements for the Benghazi mission. ...

One in four GPS devices on criminals in L.A. County were faulty - latimes.com

Probation department audit says violent felons released in L.A. County could roam undetected for days and sometimes weeks.

One in every four GPS devices used to track serious criminals released in Los Angeles County has proved to be faulty, according to a probation department audit — allowing violent felons to roam undetected for days or, in some cases, weeks.
The problems included batteries that wouldn't hold a charge and defective electronics that generated excessive false alarms. One felon, county officials said, had to have his GPS monitor replaced 11 times over a year; for five days during the 45-day audit period, his whereabouts were unknown.
"If you have faulty technology, that is a recipe for disaster," said Reaver Bingham, deputy chief of the probation department.
The findings come as nearly every California county is moving forward with some form of electronic monitoring to contend with tens of thousands of state inmates being released to their supervision, an offshoot of the effort to reduce prison overcrowding.

If the Bitch of Benghazi gets elected - 2017 and the End of Ethics

Hilary Clinton has never had ethics, just her unhygienic ego. She would merely continue the mendacious downward spiral of America. m/r

2017 and the End of Ethics | National Review Online

Will the Obama-era hypocrisy continue when the next president takes office?
Will there be a scandal if the new political appointees at the IRS sic their auditors on Moveon.org? What will the Washington Post say should the new president keep Guantanamo Bay open for five more years, quadruple the number of drone missions, or decide to double renditions? Will it say that he was shredding the Constitution, or that he found the terror threat too great to honor past promises?

Will NPR run an exposĂ© on our next president should she tap into Angela Merkel’s cell phone, or monitor the communications of Associated Press reporters — and their parents? Will investigative reporters go after the president should he falsely claim that an ambassador and three other U.S. personnel died in the Middle East during a video-sparked spontaneous riot? Or if he then jails the filmmaker for a year on a trumped-up parole-violation charge?

In other words, because for the past five years the members of the Washington press corps have abdicated their traditional adversarial role as watchdogs of the executive branch, can we still have watchdogs at all in 2017? If the next president falsely swears that his new health-care program will not affect citizens’ current coverage, what consequences could possibly follow? If the New York Times went after such perfidy in 2017, would the new president just say, “Where were you when Obama did it?”

If a conservative should be elected, and his Justice Department decided not to enforce federal gun laws in certain cities, would not the president say to his critics, “You were happy to ignore the flouting of federal immigration law in sanctuary cities, so why not exempt gun control too?”

It really was the worst - Remembering Electric Football

It was irritating, noisy, it hummed and vibrated, it even had an adjustment nob that just made its irritating hum change pitch, temporarily. The "player" figures had about twenty rubber flagella that were "designed" for their mobility. The most any moved, if at all, was in a slow half circle. The game always seemed stupid and frustrating; it always outlasted our attention span by it's just being noisy and doing nothing close to the game it perpetrated to be on its box. It gave our young minds a hint of what was in store us when had to deal with government bureaucracy in the future. m/r

JACK CASHILL Dec. 25, 2013

Every other Christmas, in the guise of Santa, my kindly father would place under the tree a game that held an oddly wondrous appeal both for him and for us. The game was called simply “Electric Football.”
I say “oddly” because Electric Football may well have been the single worst game ever created. The “every other year” was a necessary interval to help us forget just how bad the game really was.

Be prepared: Wall Street advisor recommends guns, ammo for protection in collapse | WashingtonExaminer.com
BY PAUL BEDARD | DECEMBER 26, 2013

A top financial advisor, worried that Obamacare, the NSA spying scandal and spiraling national debt is increasing the chances for a fiscal and social disaster, is recommending that Americans prepare a “bug-out bag” that includes food, a gun and ammo to help them stay alive.
David John Marotta, a Wall Street expert and financial advisor and Forbes contributor, said in a note to investors, “Firearms are the last item on the list, but they are on the list. There are some terrible people in this world. And you are safer when your trusted neighbors have firearms.”
His memo is part of a series addressing the potential for a “financial apocalypse.” His view, however, is that the problems plaguing the country won't result in armageddon. “There is the possibility of a precipitous decline, although a long and drawn out malaise is much more likely,” said the Charlottesville, Va.-based president of Marotta Wealth Management.

Did Loretta Fuddy get ‘Ron Browned’?

Exclusive: Jack Cashill reviews eyebrow-raising evidence in death of Clinton 'bagman'

Published: 12/18/2013

Loretta Fuddy, the Hawaiian official responsible for the release of Barack Obama’s birth certificate, died last week in a small-plane crash off the island of Molokai.
The plane crashed was enough to raise suspicions among those who follow these things. That she was the only one of the nine onboard to die heightened those suspicions, especially given the conflicting accounts of how she alone failed to survive.
More than a few people have asked my opinion on this given that I wrote a book on a case with some parallels – the death of then-Commerce Secretary Ron Brown in an April 1996 plane crash in Croatia.
When I was offered a book contract on the Brown case, I accepted with one major stipulation: If the evidence suggested that Brown died accidentally, I would report just that.
At the time I believed the most likely explanation would prove to be either an accident or possibly a terrorist incident covered up for the sake of political expediency.
For that reason, I chose to focus on why the plane went up. What I learned was that in its illicit pursuit of campaign cash, the White House frequently and needlessly put its principal bagman, the secretary of commerce, in harm’s way.
In exploring Ron Brown’s life, however, I came to see just how desperate were its circumstances, especially at the end. I also came to see how deeply – and willfully – flawed was the investigation into his death.
Incredibly, although I was doing my research seven years after the crash, I was the first person in the media to request the U.S. Air Force’s 22-volume accident investigation report.

No Style, no substance; No sizzle, no steak - Obama Couldn’t Use Website To Sign Up For Obamacare

Obama Couldn’t Use Website To Sign Up For Obamacare « CBS DC

HONOLULU — He won’t use it, and he didn’t actually sign up for it himself, but President Barack Obama has enrolled for health coverage through the new insurance exchanges.
Announcing his enrollment Monday, the White House called it a symbolic show of Obama’s support for the fledgling exchanges where millions of Americans must buy insurance or face a penalty. Ironically, it also served as a reminder of just how complex and sometimes daunting the process can be.
Obama, like so many other Americans, couldn’t use the website.

“The complicated nature of the president’s case required an in-person sign-up,” the White House said.

He couldn't even teach! Those Who Can't, Govern

And he grew up in Indonesia, not Hawaii, to boot!
Government today, as Obama sees it, is for the few, the chosen, the contributors to Obamunism. m/r

Public Works had Obama been president:

"As for Obama, he's not Jay-Z, nor even Justin Bieber: He can't sing, or dance, or create a government bureaucracy that functions any more efficiently than a Soviet supermarket. He broke the lifelong rule that had served him so well — "Don't just do something. Stand there" — and for the first time in his life did something, terribly. It will bear his name forever."

Those Who Can't, Govern :: SteynOnline

For much of last year, a standard trope of President Obama's speechwriters was that there were certain things only government could do. "That's how we built this country — together," he declared. "We constructed railroads and highways, the Hoover Dam and the Golden Gate Bridge. We did those things together." As some of us pointed out, for the cost of Obama's 2009 stimulus bill alone, you could have built 1,567 Golden Gate Bridges — or one mega–Golden Gate Bridge stretching from Boston to just off the coast of Ireland. Yet there isn't a single bridge, or a single dam ("You will never see another federal dam," his assistant secretary of the interior assured an audience of environmentalists). Across the land, there was not a thing for doting network correspondents in hard hats to stand in front of and say, "Obama built this."
Until now, that is. Obamacare is as close to a Hoover Dam as latter-day Big Government gets. Which is why its catastrophic launch is sobering even for those of us who've been saying for five years it would be a disaster. It's as if at the ribbon-cutting the Hoover Dam cracked open and washed away the dignitaries; as if the Golden Gate Bridge was opened to traffic with its central span missing; as if Apollo 11 had taken off for the moon but landed on Newfoundland. Obama didn't have to build a dam or a bridge or a spaceship, just a database and a website. This is his world, the guys he hangs with, the zeitgeist he surfs so dazzlingly, Apple and Google, apps and downloads. But his website's a sclerotic dump, and the database is a hacker's heaven, and all that's left is the remorseless snail mail of millions and millions of cancellation letters.
For the last half-century, Obama has simply had to be. Just being Obama was enough to waft him onwards and upwards: He was the Harvard Law Review president who never published a word, the community organizer who never organized a thing, the state legislator who voted present. And then one day came the day when it wasn't enough simply to be. For the first time in his life, he had to do. And it turns out he can't. He's not Steve Jobs or Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos. And Healthcare.gov is about what you'd expect if you nationalized a sixth of the economy and gave it to the Assistant Deputy Commissar of the Department of Paperwork and the Under-Regulator-General of the Bureau of Compliance.
Politics, the late Christopher Hitchens used to say, is show business for ugly people. But it's also ugly business for show people. ...
