Property tax burden up 13 pct under Christie - My9 New Jersey
By GEOFF MULVIHILL
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - An analysis by The Associated Press has found the net household property tax burden rose 13% in Gov. Chris Christie's first three years in office.
That figure reflects both Christie's success in reining in local government spending and his inability to deliver on a 2009 campaign promise to restore a property tax relief program.
New Jersey continues to have the highest property tax bills in the nation.
