Is the Obama-Media Alliance Over? - No! Do Not Underestimate the Left's Inclination for Self-Delusion

Strassel: Is the Obama-Media Alliance Over? - WSJ.com
May 30, 2013
By KIMBERLEY A. STRASSEL

The Justice Department scandal has outraged two of the president's most reliable allies: the press and liberal activists.

The verdict is still out on how much political damage the current trio of scandals will inflict on the Obama White House. For now, the one that might hurt most is the one the public cares about least.
A new Quinnipiac poll shows President Obama's job approval falling to 45%, but the survey also ranks the public's focus on today's Washington controversies. Nearly 45% of voters said the IRS scandal is most important, followed by 24% who picked Benghazi. A mere 15% thought the Justice Department's seizure of press records was a big deal.
No surprise. The IRS is an agency that touches nearly every American, and both the IRS and Benghazi scandals revolve around the sort of big, breathless questions—Did the White House lie? Was the administration targeting enemies?—that rivet public attention. Most Americans don't much care what happens to the press, and if anything wouldn't mind seeing it get some grief.
What this verdict misses, however, is two important realities. The first is that—unlike the IRS and Benghazi scandals—the facts of the DOJ's press intrusions are clear and uncontested. We know Justice has seized records of reporters, that Attorney General Eric Holder himself signed onto a warrant that suggested a journalist was a "co-conspirator" in a national-security leak. We also know that government has violated its own guidelines on probing journalists.

Dump Holder - here is someone who should never have been AG let alone in Gov't positions of power

His adult life has reflected anti-American activity and racism. Add to that his anti-Second amendment coniving with "Fast and Furious," his anti-First amendment targeting the press with false warrants, his brokering pardons for the corrupt and killers, his law firm's representing the terrorists on Gitmo and his chronic perjury out his own arrogance ... it goes on and on. m/r

Weekly Update: Dump Holder | Judicial Watch

Holder’s Seat Burning Hot Following Press Revolt, Perjury Accusations
When Barack Obama first nominated Eric Holder for the position of Attorney General, Judicial Watch was outspoken in its criticism. In fact, take a look at a letter we sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee opposing the nomination at the time.
Mr. Holder’s record demonstrates a willingness to bend the law in order to protect his political patrons. On his watch at the Clinton Justice Department, the pardon process was upended and corrupted by a “pay to play” mentality. This undermined, in the least, the appearance of the fair administration of justice by the Justice Department. Mr. Holder is the wrong person to head the Department of Justice.
I wish I could tell you we were wrong. But, after four years of some of the most egregious scandals in the history of the country – many of them originating from within the nation’s highest law enforcement agency – our words have proven prophetic. From Fast and Furious to the Black Panthers to encouraging voter fraud this has been the most corrupt Department of Justice (DOJ) in modern U.S. history.

Recall effort against Arizona's Sheriff Joe Arpaio fails - latimes.com

TUCSON -- Despite a recent court ruling that the department run by Maricopa County’s top cop used racial profiling in his quest to crack down on illegal immigration, a recall effort against Sheriff Joe Arpaio has failed.
On Thursday, members of Respect Arizona and Citizens for a Better Arizona -- who launched the recall effort against Arpaio -- failed to gather the necessary 335,000 valid voter signatures by the 5 p.m. deadline. The aim was to force a recall election.
Activists behind the recall effort would not say how many signatures they were short. Randy Parraz, president of Citizens for Better Arizona, only said the two groups had collected close to 300,000 signatures.
Arpaio, reelected in November, blasted the group in a prepared statement.
“After months of name calling, after the disparaging effigies and theatrics … this latest recall effort has failed,” Arpaio said. "This effort failed because the good people of Maricopa County, whom I'm honored to serve, rejected the wrongheaded idea of overturning an election."

Terror Unlimited, Power Unchecked: The VanderSlooting of America

'Smell Sampling' was used by the Stasi to track dissidents
 in the GDR.
They have a dossier on all of us. They want to see all our papers.
The East German Stasi inherited the ethos of the Gestapo. They even kept records on the scent of East Germans; total control.
New we have our own Gestapo and SS, and woe betide us.
Now they demand to know "What do you pray for? "
We have a new all powerful law, it has usurped the laws of Constitution, it's called IRS law!
The time has come to put a stop to it all. m/r

The American Spectator : The VanderSlooting of America

The President, the Left, the IRS, and a timeline of tyranny.
A timeline of tyranny.
Amid the ongoing cascade of stories focusing on abuses by the Internal Revenue Service, a simple historical truth is lost.
At its very core, the Left is about tyranny. Intimidation. The mailed fist.
One can spend endless hours recalling the bloody tyrannies of the French Revolution, or Communism or the Nazis (aka the National Socialists) or, in America, the violence visited by leftist groups from the Ku Klux Klan to this or that labor union to all those 60s radicals who raced around the country in a murderous rage with bombs and bullets.
But what the massive abuse of the IRS illustrates is a tyranny of a different sort. A bloodless yet still quite decided tyranny. A tyranny of the American Left designed not just to chill free speech — although that is a primary goal. What has evidenced itself in the Obama era is a tyranny designed not just to silence dissent, but to deliberately, willfully damage if not ruin outright the reputations and businesses of Americans across the land.
To scare the living hell out of people.
To send the message: do what we say — or else.
One of the horror stories that have emerged in the last year is the tale of Idaho businessman Frank VanderSloot, the million-dollar donor to the Romney campaign. Not only did a onetime investigator for Senate Democrats turn up in Idaho rummaging through the local courthouse for damaging information about VanderSloot’s divorce, VanderSloot quickly found himself targeted by the IRS.

Thoughts on Woolwich by Theodore Dalrymple

Thoughts on Woolwich by Theodore Dalrymple - City Journal

Lee Rigby’s murder tells us as much about contemporary society as it does about radical Islam.
29 May 2013
A witness to the brutal hacking death of a British soldier, Lee Rigby, a few hundred yards from his barracks in London, had the presence of mind to record the explanatory statement of one of the perpetrators, Michael Adebolajo, on his smartphone immediately after the crime. What Adebolajo said—his hand bloody from the attack and still holding the meat cleaver with which he carried it out—was revealing, as were his manner and body language. Together, they showed him to be the product of the utterly charmless, aggressive, and crude street culture of the less favored parts of London. The intonation of his speech was pure South London, as was the resentful tone of thwarted entitlement and its consequent self-righteousness. His every gesture was pure South London; the predatory lope with which he crossed the road after speaking into the camera was pure South London.
Adebolajo was born in London of Nigerian parents who were devout Christians. He did not learn his manners from them, therefore, but from the society around him. At one point in his life, his parents moved away from London in an attempt to separate him from bad—which is to say, criminal—influences. Adebolajo had joined a gang that stole phones from pedestrians.
It is not true that the society in which he lived offered him no opportunity for personal betterment. Adebolajo was for a time a student at Greenwich University, graduation from which, whatever the real value of the education it offered him, would have improved his chances in the job market, especially in the public sector. But it was at the university that he encountered radical Islam, that ideology that simultaneously succors people with an existential grudge against the world and flatters their inflated and inflamed self-importance. It also successfully squares the adolescent circle: the need both to conform to a peer group and to rebel against society.

Warren’s Student-Loan Demagoguery | National Review Online
MAY 28, 2013
By  Ian Tuttle
As in her campaign, she ignores the truth to stir populist anger.

‘If the Federal Reserve can float trillions of dollars to large financial institutions at low interest rates to grow the economy, surely they can float the Department of Education the money to fund our students, keep us competitive, and grow our middle class.”
That is the logic behind the first piece of legislation from Harvard Law School professor-cum-Massachusetts senator Elizabeth Warren, introduced in the Senate two weeks ago. The Bank on Students Loan Fairness Act seeks to extend to students the same loan interest rates allegedly offered to the country’s chief financial institutions. Among the problems with the bill? Said interest rates for said greedy banks do not exist. But that is a minor detail in Warren’s latest exercise in cheap populism.
During the summer of 2012, as Barack Obama and Mitt Romney competed in a game of “How Low Can You Go?” on federal student-loan interest rates, Congress tussled to a stalemate on the issue, settling for a one-year extension of the 3.4 percent interest rate on subsidized Stafford loans, those available to students with demonstrated financial need. The government pays the interest on subsidized Stafford loans while the student is in school (hence “subsidized”). But the current rate extension is set to expire July 1, and if Congress does not act, the interest rate will double for 7 million students.
“We can’t afford to wait,” Warren has said, doing her best to rally supporters to action in a made-up crisis. We are in need of a long-term solution, but Warren’s bill is not it.
Brookings Institution fellows Matthew M. Chingos and Beth Akers dismiss the proposal as “a cheap political gimmick.”

The Bully Pulpit | National Review Online
MAY 28, 2013
By Thomas Sowell

We have truly entered the world of  “Alice in Wonderland” when the CEO of a company that pays $16 million a day in taxes is hauled up before a congressional subcommittee and denounced on nationwide television for not paying more.
Apple CEO Tim Cook was denounced for contributing to “a worrisome federal deficit,” according to Senator Carl Levin (D., Mich.) – one of the big-spending liberals in Congress who has had a lot more to do with creating that deficit than any private citizen has.
Because of “gimmicks” used by businesses to reduce their taxes, Senator Levin said, “children across the country won’t get early education from Head Start. Needy seniors will go without meals. Fighter jets sit idle on tarmacs because our military lacks the funding to keep pilots trained.”
The federal government already has ample powers to punish people who have broken the tax laws. It does not need additional powers to bully people who haven’t.
...
The real danger to us all is when government not only exercises the powers that we have voted to give it, but also exercises additional powers that we never voted to give it. That is when “public servants” become public masters. That is when government itself has stepped over the line.

Again, Race Trumps Reason - Juan Williams Defends Eric Holder Over Secret Monitoring of Reporters

This is a new type of color blindness. As with Colin Powell, who thinks Obama is doing just fine, Juan Williams, who should know better after his bad treatment at NPR, is going through ridiculous, contradictory, irrational and unreasonable verbal gymnastics to continue support for the Attorney General, in spite of the facts that Eric Holder is a liar, if not a criminal, and should at least leave office. m/r

Juan Williams Defends Eric Holder Over Secret Monitoring of Reporters - Katie Pavlich
5-29-13 -full short post-

Last night on the O'Reilly Factor, "real journalist" Juan Williams defended Attorney General Eric Holder as he faces calls from both Republicans and Democrats to step down after revelations the Department of Justice has been secretly monitoring reporters. Holder has been assigned to investigate thes secret monitoring. The problem, Holder personally signed off of the monitoring of Fox News' Chief Washington Correspondent James Rosen's personal and work emails, phone calls and the phones of his parents in Staten Island. Williams thinks Holder is "the perfect guy" to look into the case despite these facts and cited national security as an excuse for the monitoring even though DOJ broke its own policies to do so for vast periods of time.
"What's lame here Bill is that people don't realize this is about national security."

Septic City - Hospitals Struggle to Get Workers to Wash Their Hands

I hate just visiting hospitals, they seem like a giant petri dish of growing infection.
The worst victims are women. If they get forced to stay in a hospital, too many of the nurses are too lazy to help the patient to a bathroom, or use a bedpan or diaper in order to the make the patient more comfortable. Instead, the patient gets a catheter inserted for the nurses convenience. All too often the result is bladder infection.

Also, an excessive amount of pain killers and sedatives are used. Their use is often abused to keep the patient quiet, so they will not be bothering the hospital staff.
Hospitals are the place of last resort. After Obamacare is fully government dictated, death will be a well considered option. m/r

Hospitals Struggle to Get Workers to Wash Their Hands - NYTimes.com

At North Shore University Hospital on Long Island, motion sensors, like those used for burglar alarms, go off every time someone enters an intensive care room. The sensor triggers a video camera, which transmits its images halfway around the world to India, where workers are checking to see if doctors and nurses are performing a critical procedure: washing their hands.
This Big Brother-ish approach is one of a panoply of efforts to promote a basic tenet of infection prevention, hand-washing, or as it is more clinically known in the hospital industry, hand-hygiene. With drug-resistant superbugs on the rise, according to a recent report by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and with hospital-acquired infections costing $30 billion and leading to nearly 100,000 patient deaths a year, hospitals are willing to try almost anything to reduce the risk of transmission.
Studies have shown that without encouragement, hospital workers wash their hands as little as 30 percent of the time that they interact with patients. So in addition to the video snooping, hospitals across the country are training hand-washing coaches, handing out rewards like free pizza and coffee coupons, and admonishing with “red cards.” They are using radio-frequency ID chips that note when a doctor has passed by a sink, and undercover monitors, who blend in with the other white coats, to watch whether their colleagues are washing their hands for the requisite 15 seconds, as long as it takes to sing the “Happy Birthday” song.
All this effort is to coax workers into using more soap and water, or alcohol-based sanitizers like Purell.
“This is not a quick fix; this is a war,” said Dr. Bruce Farber, chief of infectious disease at North Shore.

Like many things in government, the path of least work is taken. In SF and DC, cops don't want us to be able to protect ourselves, but they aren't protecting us either.

Police Peddle "Stolen" iPhones, Arrest Buyers: Don't Cops Have Better Things to Do?! - YouTube

Published on May 28, 2013
transcript-
If a shady character stops you on the streets of San Francisco and tries to sell you a stolen iPhone or iPad, he just might be a cop.

San Francisco Police Department officers are going undercover to peddle "stolen" Apple devices, and whoever takes the bait gets taken down (by five cops no less!). The Huffington Post's Gerry Smith reports that SFPD created a special task force three years ago to combat "Apple picking." Similar task forces can be found in New York City and Washington, D.C.

"If they steal the phone but can't sell it, there's no market," says San Francisco Police Capt. Joe Garrity. "We're cutting the head off the snake."

Capt. Joe might want to take it easy with the hyperbole, especially when Apple picking is a crime that he himself equates with purse snatching, and when San Francisco's finest could be spending more time on more serious crimes.

Around the time the SFPD was cooking up its iPhone task force, The San Francisco Examiner revealed that the department had more than 1,000 unsolved murders and about 900 unsolved rapes on its hands. A year later, San Francisco Attorney General George Gascon, who was police chief at the time of the revelation, told a reporter he had "forgot" about his department's unfinished business.

So there's no need for cops to create crimes because lots of people have already committed crimes, crimes much worse than Apple picking.

Just under 2 minutes.

Tyranny around the corner -- Team Obama trashes Constitution to pursue opponents | Fox News

A few weeks ago, President Obama advised graduates at Ohio State University that they need not listen to voices warning about tyranny around the corner, because we have self-government in America. He argued that self-government is in and of itself an adequate safeguard against tyranny, because voters can be counted upon to elect democrats (lowercase “d”) not tyrants.
His argument defies logic and 20th-century history. It reveals an ignorance of the tyranny of the majority, which believes it can write any law, regulate any behavior, alter any procedure and tax any event so long as it can get away with it.
....
Under Obama’s watch, the majority has, by active vote or refusal to interfere, killed hundreds of innocents -- including three Americans -- by drone, permitted federal agents to write their own search warrants, bombed Libya into tribal lawlessness without a declaration of war so that a mob there killed our ambassador with impunity, attempted to force the Roman Catholic Church to purchase insurance policies that cover artificial birth control, euthanasia and abortion, ordered your doctor to ask you whether you own guns, used the IRS to intimidate outspoken conservatives, seized the telephone records of newspaper reporters without lawful authority and in violation of court rules, and obtained a search warrant against one of my Fox colleagues by misrepresenting his true status to a federal judge.
James Rosen, my colleague and friend, is a professional journalist. He covers the State Department for Fox News. In order to do his job, he has cultivated sources in the State Department -- folks willing to speak from time to time off the record.

More Unintended Consequences of Central Planning - Suburbs Burn as Swedes Reject TODs*

Instead, they were in high-density housing projects that Sweden built in an effort to promote transit ridership, which planners today would call “transit-oriented developments.” Most Swedes, however, refused to live in these projects, so they became home to Sweden’s second-class citizenry, namely immigrant and often Muslim workers.
American urban planners who want to follow Europe’s example of emphasizing multi-family housing and transit over single-family homes and automobiles should look closely at Sweden’s example. Though Sweden is often praised as an ideal social democracy, the riots reveal a dark underbelly, namely that the country has come to depend on immigrant workers who take second-class jobs and live in second-class housing and are forced to use second-class transportation.

The Great Race Card Getaway

It is not a race card, it is paper fortress built on sand, protected by an army of self-delusional hoodoos and false guilt ridden sycophants. m/r

The Great Race Card Getaway | FrontPage Magazine
By Daniel Greenfield On May 28, 2013
- excerpt -
...

Now as congressional Republicans were trying to figure out which scandal to investigate first, Barack Obama headed off to Morehouse, a historically black college, to offer some condescending words of wisdom, telling graduates, “It betrays a poverty of ambition if all you think about is what goods you can buy instead of what good you can do.” Far be it from the Morehouse Men to follow his example.
Obama cheerfully declared that he was an “Honorary Morehouse Man”; an honor that the Harvard and Columbia alum, who would never have been caught dead at Morehouse, prizes nearly as dearly as Clinton prized the lives of all the East Africans who were never enslaved.
“We know that too many young men in our community continue to make bad choices,” Obama told Morehouse grads, even as Congress was busy investigating the bad choices that he had made with the IRS and Benghazi. “Growing up, I made a few myself. And I have to confess, sometimes I wrote off my own failings as just another example of the world trying to keep a black man down.”
Fortunately that is a lapse that Obama has grown out of. It’s probably been an entire week since one of his surrogates compared the Republican Party to the KKK and declared that any investigation of his crimes and misdemeanors is another lynching.
But aside from the usual ObamaCare pitch, the race card was what the appearance was largely about. In 2012, Obama went to Barnard College, an elite women’s liberal arts school affiliated with his Columbia alma mater where the tuition it is double what it is at Morehouse, in keeping with his theme of a War on Women. (A war that history records Bill Clinton successfully winning when he dodged impeachment.)
In 2013, Obama needed to suddenly remind everyone that the world was trying to keep a half-black man down after twice selecting him for the highest office in the world. At Morehouse, Obama praised grads for their critical race theory awareness in being able to recognize “the burdens you carry with you, but to resist the temptation to use them as excuses.”
Obama, who has never carried a burden heavier than a golf club bag, has exploited their burdens as his excuse for everything. He got elected by exploiting the guilt and anger over a history of slavery that he had as much to do with as the Ugandans did. And he stayed in office by flipping open his wallet and flashing his race card every time he was pulled over because the taillight of national defense was out and the muffler of the economy was dragging a hail of sparks along the road.
Instead of going to Africa, where he actually has some relevant history, Obama went to Morehouse, where he has none.

Memorial Day When it was still about the Civil War - SOLDIERS & SAILORS MONUMENT

I used to see this lovely Civil War Memorial nearly every day when I lived in Manhattan. It gave me a sense of some of the timelessness that could be found in New York. Grant's Tomb is up Riverside Drive about a mile. m/r

SOLDIERS & SAILORS MONUMENT | | Forgotten New YorkForgotten New York

Riverside Drive is justly famed for its undulating route along the Hudson; Riverside Park — New York’s longest; its Beaux Arts and Art Deco apartment buildings; and Grant’s Tomb, the massive memorial to the Ohioan at West 122nd Street. Grant and his wife are entombed, not buried there …
Less famed, though no less beautiful, is the massive Civil War- inspired Soldiers and Sailors Monument at Riverside Drive and West 89th.
Inspired for its design by the Choragic Monument of Lysicrates, near the Acropolis in Athens, Greece, the Soldiers and Sailors Monument was built between 1900 and 1902, designed by architect Paul M. Duboy, whose most famous creation is, perhaps, the famedAnsonia Hotel on Broadway.
The Grecian monument to which the Soldiers and Sailors Monument is a hommage was dedicated in 334 or 335 BC to the choregos, or patron of the arts, Lysicrates. The frieze depicts events in the life of wine-god Dionysus. It is the only survivor of several such monuments on its particular street in Athens, having been saved by Capuchin monks in 1669.
President Theodore Roosevelt laid its cornerstone in 1900 and it was unveiled on May 30 (Memorial Day) 1902, after a peculiar speech by Mayor Seth Low who orated “those who fought for the Union in the Civil War stand in need of no monument of stone or bronze. Our happy, prosperous, and united country is itself a monument greater than any sculptor can devise or that loving hands can set up.”
Prior to its unveiling the Monument was covered by the largest American flag produced to date, at 74 ft. by 40 ft.

Outnumbered by the girls, he's the last man standing
5-27-12  by Pat Sheil

With the death in Barbados on Thursday of James Emmanuel ''Doc'' Sisnett, at the age of 113 years and 90 days, Jiroemon Kimura, of Japan, has become the last man alive to have been born in the 19th century.
Literally the last man. There are, according to the Gerontolgy Research Group at UCLA, 21 women born before New Year's Day, 1901, who are still with us, most of them living in the United States or Japan, with others in Europe and Canada.
But while the females born in the reign of Queen Victoria strongly outnumber him, Mr Kimura, born on April 19, 1897, has one record the girls can't match - not just yet, anyway. At 116, the ''supercentenarian'' is the oldest human on the planet.

Showing, unfortunately, that race can be thicker than reason - Colin Powell: Obama Second Term Going ‘Reasonably Well’

Colin Powell: Obama Second Term Going ‘Reasonably Well’ | National Review Online

With the Vietnam Memorial in the background, former secretary of state Colin Powell sat down with Al [don't I look like Phil Donahue?] Hunt on Bloomberg TV’s Political Capital to discuss the state of the American military (“terrific”), Syria (“caution” necessary), Benghazi (“I don’t care about the talking points”), and President Obama’s second term. About the last, Powell said the commander-in-chief is doing “reasonably well,” given the improving economy. Powell wished the president success on immigration reform and lamented the president’s failure on background checks for gun purchases.

Obama and Kerry Perfect BS together - FACT CHECK: Kerry dishes some iffy claims abroad

"It's a Terrible Life" - America would have been better
without them.
The irony here is the AP showing Kerry to be a chronic distorter, if not outright liar, just as he was during the 2004 presidential campaign and about his Viet Nam record. m/r

My Way News - FACT CHECK: Kerry dishes some iffy claims abroad
May 27, 3:11 AM (ET) Who knows what year at the AP?
By BRADLEY KLAPPER

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia (AP) - U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry straddled the diplomatic boundary this weekend between presenting the best face of America and a misleading one.
In a question-and-answer session with young Ethiopians on Sunday, Kerry exaggerated the U.S. record on climate change, appeared to conflate past U.S. policy on drones with President Barack Obama's new policy and gave an incomplete account of how he opposed the Iraq war. A day earlier, he struggled with economic data as well as the contents of his own department's terrorism blacklist.
Here's a look at how some of his statements measured up against the facts:
---
KERRY on drones:
KERRY: "I opposed the president's decision to go into Iraq."
---
KERRY on climate change: "We're below the Kyoto levels now."

More Sinister! If True - Obama’s Brother Works With Man Who Attacked U.S. Embassy

Statue of General Gordon
The statue stands in the grounds of the Gordon School
near Chobham, Surrey. It originally stood in
Khartoum but I guess the locals weren't too
impressed with having the likeness of
an imperialist oppressor looking down on them.
Is everything that is done in this administration a cover up of blatant gangsterism?
The hatred for things related to the Colonial British runs in the family. m/r

Obama’s Brother Works With Man Who Attacked U.S. Embassy | FrontPage Magazine

By Theodore Shoebat On May 27, 2013 @ 12:46 am In Daily Mailer,FrontPage | No Comments
Since the IRS scam has become the most momentous topic of the day, we now know, thanks to my father, that President Obama’s brother, Malik Obama, is deeply associated with Omar al-Bashir, the one who was behind the attack on the US embassy in Khartoum, Sudan, which occurred at around the same time as the Benghazi attack. I was the first to write on this in English when the attack first happened, stating:
The attacks by Muslims on American embassies in Egypt and Libya has shocked the media enough, but now North Sudan has just exploded, with mobs raiding both the British, German and American embassies. Who is responsible? According to Al-Rakoba, a Sudanese news site, it is Omar al-Bashir, the president of North Sudan, and his despotic government who is behind this. Al-Bashir is a modern Hitler, an Islamic tyrant responsible for the deaths of over three-million people, all in the name of Jihad and war against Christians.
Obama’s brother is working with an enemy to the United States. Meanwhile, the president attacks American liberty and sets policies that are helpful to Bashir. In 2012 I wrote an article showing how, while Obama has supported the Islamic uprisings in the Middle East, he has in fact stopped a revolution against the Hitler of Africa, Omar al-Bashir, who has been responsible for the deaths of over three million people. I wrote:
The support of the rebels in Syria, and the condemnation of Assad, by the Obama administration can only make one question as to why he is against this particular regimen, but not that of Omar al-Bashir, the tyrant who has been responsible for the deaths of millions through the Jihad that he has commenced against Christians and the non-Arab Muslims of Darfur.
In fact, Obama had at one point in time prevented Salva Kiir, [the Christian president] president of South Sudan, from aiding rebels who wanted to topple al-Bashir’s regimen, and replace it with a secular government.
Malik is the Executive Secretary for the Islamic Da’wa Organization (IDO), which is stationed in Khartoum, Sudan, and which is primarily focused on expanding Wahhabist Islam on the African subcontinent.

Pompous Asses: Senators Levin, McCain and the 98 other Clowns in their sumptuous Clown Car called the Senate - The Big Apple Circus

This great 'maverick' is also part of the "Gang of Eight"
John McCain joined Levin in objecting to their obedience. “For years,” McCain griped, “Apple has opted to forego fully contributing to the U.S. Treasury and to American society by shifting profits and circumventing U.S. taxes.” A reminder to the maverick: You are discussing taxes. One cannot “opt” out of taxes. If Apple has done something wrong, then prosecute them. If not, stay quiet. When you imply that a beloved company isn’t fully “contributing to American society” if it declines to hand over some of its hard-earned cash to the federal treasury, you sound like a fool.
That is because he, Levin and most of their colleagues are fools! Unfortunately, most have also "fooled us twice" and they were reelected. m/r

Adios Gringo! - WHEN DID WE VOTE TO BECOME MEXICO?

The Tipping Point: Telemundo gets higher ratings than NBC. m/r
As Milton Friedman said, "you cannot have open borders and a welfare state."

Ann Coulter - May 22, 2013 - WHEN DID WE VOTE TO BECOME MEXICO?

Stinkin' El Teddy
At first I thought the IRS scandal was leaked to distract from the Benghazi scandal. But that didn't make sense because the IRS scandal is a more obvious abuse of power than the White House lying about the murder of four Americans in Libya.
...
Meanwhile, Sens. Marco Rubio, Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham and John McCain are working feverishly to turn the country into Mexico.

So now I think all the scandals are intended to distract from Rubio's amnesty bill.

For decades, Mexicans have been about 30 percent of all legal immigrants to the United States, while only a smidgen more than 1 percent come from Great Britain. Is that fair? Granted, their food is better, but why is it the norm is to have nearly 30 times as many Mexican as British immigrants?

We have been taking in more immigrants from Guatemala, the Dominican Republic and Colombia, individually, than from England, our mother country. There are nearly twice as many immigrants from El Salvador as from Canada, and 10 times as many as from Australia.

Why can't the country be more or less the ethnic composition that it always was? The 50-1 Latin American-to-European ratio isn't a natural phenomenon that might result from, say, Europeans losing interest in coming here and poor Latin Americans providing some unique skill desperately needed in our modern, technology-based economy.

To the contrary, it's result of an insane government policy. Teddy Kennedy's 1965 Immigration Act was designed to artificially inflate the number of immigrants from the Third World, while making it virtually impossible for anyone from the nations that historically provided our immigrants to come here.

Keeping Tabs - But Not Keeping Track

Keeping Tabs | National Review Online

-full short post-

In his big speech the other day, President Obama said, “Much of our best counterterrorism cooperation results in the gathering and sharing of intelligence.” And much of the gathering and sharing results in …nothing.
The Woolwich butcher was deported from Kenya on suspicion of terrorism andcaptured on video calling for the beheading of British soldiers …but that didn’t prevent him beheading a British soldier.
Just as Tamerlan Tsarnaev was brought to the US Government’s attention by the Russians, but that didn’t prevent him blowing up the Boston Marathon.
And the Pantybomber was fingered by his own dad to the CIA, but that didn’t prevent him boarding the plane to Detroit.
And Major Hasan was tracked by not one but two joint terrorism task forces in regular email communication with Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen but they concluded that this lively correspondence was consistent with his “research interests”, so that didn’t prevent him standing on a table at Fort Hood yelling “Allahu Akbar!” and killing 14 Americans, which was also consistent with his “research interests”.
Surveillance, said President Obama in his speech, raises “difficult questions about the balance that we strike between our interests in security and our values of privacy.” Au contraire, privacy-wise it seems to be working out just great for Messrs Hasan, Tsarnaev & Co. And “surveillance” doesn’t seem quite the word when the enemy is hiding in plain sight flaunting his “research interests”, posting terrorist videos to his YouTube channel, getting deported as a suspected member of al-Shabaab, putting “Soldier of Allah” on his US Army business card – and still we can’t see him.

Katie Pavlich on IRS's Lois Lerner Going on Admin Leave Amid Scandal on Neil Cavuto

Here, Adam Lashinsky (or is it 'Alinsky'), from Fortune Magazine, is just a shill for the left as it, all too many times, happens with "Business" Reporters for Business Magazines like Fortune (Time) and Business Week. They are business ignorant, anti-business, pro-big government leftists.
I would get copies of these magazines sent to my office at work. I would read through the reports and articles only to find how wrong their conclusions were and how inept the reporting was. After reading a few too many articles I concluded they were not business magazines at all. They were the same old crap out of Time and Newsweek dressed up in a business suite. m/r
