He is so "Creepy" - Brutal week for Obama, the worst of his presidency - Washington Times

...Obama pleaded for "space" and said he will have "more flexibility" in his negotiations once the election is over and those pesky voters have done their thing. On tape it looked so bush-league, so faux-sophisticated. When he knew he'd been caught, the president tried to laugh it off by comically covering a mic in a following meeting. It was all so . . . creepy.
Next, a boy of 17 is shot and killed under disputed and unclear circumstances. The whole issue is racially charged, emotions are high, and the only memorable words from the president's response were, "If I had a son he'd look like Trayvon." - Peggy Noonan

HURT: Brutal week for Obama, the worst of his presidency - Washington Times
By Charles Hurt March 29, 2012'

ANALYSIS/OPINION:
The past seven brutal days will go down as one of the worst weeks in history for a sitting president. It certainly has been, without any doubt, the worst week yet for President Obama.
Somehow, Mr. Obama managed to embarrass himself abroad, humiliate himself here at home, see his credentials for being elected so severely undermined that it raises startling questions about whether he should have been elected in the first place — let alone be re-elected later this year.
Consider:
• Last Friday, Mr. Obama wandered into the killing of Trayvon Martin. Aided by his ignorance of the situation, knee-jerk prejudices and tendency toward racial profiling, Mr. Obama played a heavy hand in elevating a tragic situation in which a teenager was killed into a full-blown hot race fight.
Americans, he admonished, need to do some “soul-searching.” And then, utterly inexplicably, he veered off into this bizarre tangent about how he and the poor dead kid look so much alike they could be father and son. It was election-year race-pandering gone horribly wrong.
• By the start of this week, Mr. Obama had fled town and was racing to the other side of the planet just as the Supreme Court was taking up the potentially-embarrassing matter of Obamacare. While in South Korea he was caught on a hidden mic negotiating with the president of our longest-standing rival on how to sell America and her allies down the river once he gets past the next election.
• Meanwhile, back at home, the Supreme Court took up the single most important achievement of Mr. Obama’s presidency and, boy, was it embarrassing. The great constitutional law professor, it turns out, may not quite be the wizard he told us he was.
By most accounts, Mr. Obama and his stuttering lawyers were all but laughed out of the courthouse. They were even stumbling over softball questions lobbed by Mr. Obama’s own hand-picked justices.
• Mr. Obama closed his week pulling off a nearly unimaginable feat: He managed to totally and completely unify the nastily-fighting Democrats and Republicans in Congress. Late Wednesday night, they unanimously voted — 414 to zip — to reject the budget Mr. Obama had presented, leaving him not even a thin lily’s blade to hide behind.
So, in one week, Mr. Obama got caught whispering promises to our enemy, incited a race war, raised serious questions about his understanding of the Constitution, and then got smacked down over his proposed budget that was so wildly reckless that even Democrats in Congress could not support it.

Where are Jackson and Sharpton to protest the real problem! 14 people were shot which makes it one of the worst mass shootings in the history of South Florida Gang-Mass Shooting

This is real race problem that Sharpton and Jackson try to cover up with their extortion!

“Grandma, I’ve Been Shot” Said Girl Hurt In Gang Related Mass Shooting « CBS Miami
March 31, 2012

NORTH MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Fourteen people have been shot and two are dead in what may be one of the worst mass shootings in South Florida history.
The shooting took place around 9:30 p.m. outside the Funeraria Latina Emanuel funeral home at 14990 W. Dixie Highway Friday night.
One of the victims, a 43-year-old man, died outside the funeral home, authorities said. The other, a 27-year-old man, died at the hospital. Witnesses at the funeral home had said one of the two people killed was shot in the chest. Their names have not been released.
A 5-year-old girl, identified by her family as Mckayla Bazile, was shot in the leg and hospitalized at Jackson Memorial Hospital along with eleven other victims.
Mckayla’s grandmother told CBS4’s Maggie Newland that the girl has a bullet lodged in her leg bone that doctors do not plan on removing, however, she should fully recover. The grandmother said she was on the phone with Mckayla when the barrage of bullets began and the girl said, “Grandma, I’ve been shot.”

No one with a better perspective - Obama Is a Loser Who Wins, Like FDR in 1936

Purchasing a constituency, I bet you thought slavery was abolished. m/r

"Many New Deal works programs emphasized jobs over productivity. This drove some of his credentialed staff crazy. Once Rexford Tugwell, one of his closest advisers, even ribbed the president about a construction project where men used shovels, instead of tractors. If the purpose was jobs, why not use spoons?"

Obama Is a Loser Who Wins, Like FDR in 1936 - Bloomberg
By Amity Shlaes - Mar 28, 2012

The loser wins. That’s the way it can go in presidential elections. Especially when the ballot involves a likable incumbent who happens to be failing when it comes to his task of helping the U.S. economy.
In the case of President Barack Obama’s campaign for re- election, the loser the president most resembles is the one he evokes with his radio addresses: the great radio president, Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Roosevelt came into office in 1933 on a ticket of recovery. Neither employment nor the stock market returned to pre-crash levels by 1936. Yet Roosevelt won that year, taking all but two of 48 states.
A side-by-side comparison of presidential records and the campaigns of 1936 and 2012 suggests how Obama might fare, too -- minus the landslide part. The resemblance starts, of course, with the poor quality of the underlying economy in those first four years.
The U.S. grew from 1933 to 1936, but neither the stock market nor the unemployment levels got back to where they had been at the market crash in 1929. Today, our data also sketch recovery, but neither the Dow Jones Industrial Average (INDU) nor employment is back to pre-crash levels.
The second feature Obama and Roosevelt share is bad policy.

Look East across the Atlantic with trepidation - British Freedom of Speech Endangered

"Short-lived will be the society that overturns its foundational liberties for two-bit bigots. As always, free speech must apply as much to people we don’t like — to those who say obnoxious and awful things — as to those we do. Sadly, judging by the “hate speech” laws that are filling Britain’s books, and by the reaction to this case, few on the Sceptred Isle seem to care about such things anymore"

British Freedom of Speech Endangered - Charles C. W. Cooke - National Review Online

MARCH 29, 2012 4:00 A.M. By Charles C. W. Cooke
In Britain, the trend toward the curbing of free expression picked up speed on Monday, when British student Liam Stacey was sentenced to 56 days in prison for posting racist comments on Twitter. When Premier League footballer Fabrice Muamba had a heart attack during a soccer game and was rushed to hospital, a drunk Stacey took to the microblogging site and spewed a series of racially abhorrent tweets into the ether. Other Twitter users — including sports pundit and former top-flight footballer Stan Collymore — quickly noticed his words and reported Stacey to the police, who arrested him and charged him with incitement to racial hatred a few days later.
When Muamba collapsed, said the judge at Stacey’s trial, “not just the footballer’s family, not just the footballing world but the whole world were literally praying for his life. Your comments aggravated this situation.” In fact, it is hard to see how Stacey’s words aggravated anything much at all. What he wrote, utterly appalling and unprintable as it was, had bearing neither on the efficacy of Muamba’s life-saving treatment nor on the likelihood of his survival. It prevented nobody from praying for his life or exercising any of their own rights. And it encouraged nobody to do anything illegal. Sure, what Stacey wrote may have — should have — upset many people. But in a free country, that cannot be a crime.
Explaining his decision to imprison Stacey, the judge noted that he had “no choice but to impose an immediate custodial sentence to reflect the public outrage at what [Stacey had] done.” “To reflect the public outrage”? Translation: British speech law is determined by the sentiments of the mob. That this is the case would constitute a tragedy anywhere that free men live, but it is especially egregious in the land of John Stuart Mill. In On Liberty, Mill averred that “if all mankind minus one, were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind.” His words carried no small print, nor did his associated contention that “there ought to exist the fullest liberty of professing and discussing, as a matter of ethical conviction, any doctrine, however immoral it might be considered.”
It is hard to fathom why exactly Stacey was singled out. It is a sad fact of modern life that people say racist and abhorrent things on social networks and public message boards all the time — YouTube’s comments section, particularly, is a sewer — and yet most go untouched. Given that a popular Twitter reaction to Stacey’s imprisonment on Monday was “I hope he gets raped by a black man in prison” — and there were other, even less charming, variants -

From the great international success record of the Carter administration: Brzezinski Says Romney Lacks ‘Grasp’ of Foreign Policy

Makes one wonder about the old "Trilateral Commission" conspiracy from the 1970s.
It is more a gathering of the self-righteous. The policies that promoted the continuation of the Cold War.

Brzezinski Says Romney Lacks ‘Grasp’ of Foreign Policy - Bloomberg
By Viola Gienger - Mar 31, 2012

A former Democratic national security adviser assailed Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney for lacking a grasp of foreign policy and said the former Massachusetts governor would return the U.S. to the policies of George W. Bush.
“If we take seriously what he has been saying in the course of the campaign, we have every reason to be very worried,” former U.S. National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski said in an interview on Bloomberg Television’s “Political Capital With Al Hunt,” airing this weekend. “He probably subscribes to the notions articulated by his Republican predecessor,” George W. Bush, Brzezinski said.
Romney is surrounding himself with advisers from the Bush administration, and he doesn’t display a “broad grasp of what is unique about this century, how it differs from the preceding one,” said Brzezinski, who was President Jimmy Carter’s national security adviser.
In Brzezinski’s view, the best candidate to succeed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in a second term for Obama would be Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry, a Massachusetts Democrat and former presidential nominee.

Experts: Rosy prediction for U.S. employment rebound doesn't apply in N.J. | NJBIZ
March 29. 2012  By Katie Eder

While research from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York presents a positive outlook for the nation's unemployment rate in 2013, experts in New Jersey said unemployment in the Garden State will stay above federal levels well past that date.

"There's no one industry sector that I see putting the state above the country," said Joel Naroff, president of Naroff Economic Advisors. "Employment in the state will grow only because the national economy is growing, but there won't be anything special in-state to reduce unemployment."

The Fed's speculation that the national unemployment rate will fall to nearly 6 percent from the current 8.3 percent by early 2013 is based on patterns in the unemployment rate from the recovery periods following recessions in 1981 to 1982, 1990 to 1991 and 2001.

Cocktail party chatter about Obamacare and Obama's certain re-election if the law if struck down.

"So if the Supremes let Obama's health care thing fly, there's no way to stop him from four more years, eh?"
In the course of attending many social functions, columnists become inured to the inevitability of being approached by strangers anxious to propound their political viewpoints. These are usually presented with great aplomb, indicating that the speaker attributes to his idea a large measure of originality. Sadly, that is all too rarely the case. Mostly we get thoroughly pre-chewed morsels culled from the leftovers of the wisdom convention.
This may not prove that few people think for themselves. It may simply be that those deliberative types are less disposed to accosting authors while armed with sloshing cocktails. In any case, this is an occupational hazard which the scriveners of our time endure as a sort of penance; suffering for their art, as it were. There is no known defense for this affliction but a strong dose of disarming politeness.
The one thing one must never do, no matter how extreme the onslaught, is to argue. You will never win the argument and you will always lose the reader. But at a dinner for a worthy institution in Skokie, Illinois, the other night, my third such event in several days, my resistance was down -- or perhaps up -- and I foolishly let fly when a colorless enough chap offered that colorless enough analysis. My response, I fear, was too colorful by half.
"Quite the contrary. The irony is that Obama will be virtually guaranteed four more years if they strike the law down.

The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) has issued it's second annual list of America's worst colleges for free speech.
One example: The University of Cincinnati limits student demonstrations to one percent of the campus property.
Thankfully, organizations like FIRE protect students' basic rights.

Here is a perfect example of the bias, Statist point of view at the Star-Ledger. How N.J. towns' countless tax appeal settlements are costing the state billions

How about this for a headline instead:
NJ Towns and their Public Schools are in general, just wasteful, bloated bureaucracies, with generous wages for big staffs and automatic wage and pension increases from public sector unionized contracts. Visit a town hall, city hall or county office. Most of the time, unfortunately, employees are unresponsive, rude and lazy. Most jobs that are handled by three that can be done by one. The paperwork and reporting requirements make efficiency impossible.

Here we have the largest newspaper in the State essentially reprinting a government press release with supporting quotes. The Star-Ledger has always been the press agency tool of the State and local government agencies and should be ashamed. m/r

How N.J. towns' countless tax appeal settlements are costing the state billions | NJ.com
By Stephen Stirling and Sarah Portlock/The Star-Ledger 3-28-12

Swamped with a near-record number of tax appeals, New Jersey municipalities are choosing to settle more than ever rather than fight them, costing the state billions of dollars in lost tax base and wreaking havoc on local budgets, a Star-Ledger analysis has found.
With more than 87,000 homeowners and businesses filing appeals last year, settling has become the most cost-effective means of limiting the damage to municipalities, where in many cases properties were last assessed before the housing market crashed. Still, last year, municipalities lost more than $3.8 billion in their tax base because of reduced assessments, more than double the total from 2008.
The findings are the result of an analysis of more than 20 years of data from the state Treasury Department’s Division of Taxation.
As the April 2 deadline for property owners to file tax appeals fast approaches, administrators and finance directors across the state say the flood of appeals hasn’t abated.
"We’ve seen people at the counter continuously," said East Brunswick Finance Director L. Mason Neely. "Have you seen any major change in the housing market? Until we do, this is something we’re going to have to deal with." ...
..."Essentially, some towns were getting hit with appeals that were so bad that they didn’t have cash to refund them," said Wharton Administrator Jon Rheinhardt. "It puts them in a situation where their financial position is weakened and that can take a long time to get out of."

It’s Not About Stand Your Ground - It is about our rights!

It amazes me how the secure and protected ensconced government representatives who never have had to pull a gun or knife to protect themselves try to tell the rest of us 'little people' how we have to behave and be victimized.
The reason we get attracted is because of their inane laws and regulations the make assaults on us easier for criminals sine the know how hard it is for us to carry defensive weapons.
Crime was much lower when we could, as a matter of course, be armed.

It’s Not About Stand Your Ground - John R. Lott Jr. - National Review Online

We should reserve judgment, but it seems that Zimmerman acted lawfully.

... Obama, Jesse Jackson, and others have chosen to personalize the shooting of Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fla., highlighting the racial issues by expressing concern for people who look like they do or live where “blacks are under attack.” Many conservatives and liberals have also already concluded that the shooter committed a crime. All of these reactions are premature.
In response to the shooting, Florida governor Rick Scott has set up a commission to review the state’s “Stand Your Ground” law. Gun-control organizations, including the Brady Campaign, have gone beyond this and even more drastically called for the end of right-to-carry laws.
But such outrage should be restrained until we have all of the facts. Zimmerman’s call to the police, which has been heard over and over again, does not appear to tell the whole story. There is other information that appears to back up the shooter’s account. That evidence, rather than racism, might well be the reason that police chose not to arrest the shooter. Fox 35 in Orlando spoke to one eyewitness, identified as “John,” the day after the shooting. He explained: “The guy on the bottom who had a red sweater on was yelling to me: ‘Help, help’  . . . and I told him to stop and I was calling 9-1-1.”
The witness further indicated that it was the guy on top who was doing the hitting, and that the shot occurred while that attack was taking place. The man who shot Martin, George Zimmerman, was the man in the red jacket. The police report corroborates the witness’s account: “While I was in such close contact with Zimmerman, I could observe that his back appeared to be wet and was covered in grass, as if he had been laying on his back on the ground. Zimmerman was also bleeding from the nose and back of his head.” Zimmerman told the police, “I was yelling for someone to help me, but no one would help me.”
Zimmerman and his neighbors seem to have had reason for forming a neighborhood-watch group: During the past year, the Miami Herald reports, eight burglaries, nine thefts, and one shooting occurred in their gated community. And Zimmerman had even caught at least one thief himself.
Prior to the spread of “Stand Your Ground” and “Castle Doctrine” laws, citizens who wanted to defend themselves from a criminal had to retreat as far as possible and then announce to the criminal that they were going to shoot. But obvious problems arise: Forcing a victim to take time to retreat can put their life in jeopardy, and a prosecutor might argue that a victim didn’t retreat sufficiently.

America Last - Obama Follows FDR on ‘Flexibility’ with Russia

“American members of the Communist Party began filtering into the most important government departments..."
And now in the White House?

Obama Follows FDR on ‘Flexibility’ with Russia | FrontPage Magazine
By Daniel Flynn On March 28, 2012

“After my election, I have more flexibility,” Barack Obama explained to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev—and to the rest of the world through a hot mic—on Monday. He told Medvedev that he needed “space” to concentrate on his reelection before negotiating with the Russians about a missile defense shield that might protect Eastern Europe from a neighborhood predator.
This isn’t the first time that a U.S. president has presented one face to the American electorate regarding the security of Eastern Europe while presenting another face to a Russian leader. The climactic moment in the George Nash-edited Freedom Betrayed: Herbert Hoover’s Secret History of the Second World War and Its Aftermath comes during the wartime summit at Tehran, where Franklin Roosevelt privately agreed with Russian strongman Joseph Stalin’s plan to absorb Eastern Europe into his Communist dominion. But it was important for Roosevelt to tell Stalin that he could not publicly support this plan until after the 1944 election.
“In 1939 before the war, there was one Communist country,” Herbert Hoover explains in Freedom Betrayed. “By 1946 there were 23 nations or parts of nations dominated by Communism.” That is the abridged version of the 900+ page book that the 31st president described as his magnum opus. Freedom Betrayed is a curio in any number of ways. It’s the only book-length critique of one president’s policies written by his predecessor. Publication arrives nearly a half-century after its author’s death. And it is an unsettling history of settled history—questioning the official account of World War II doesn’t provoke a conversation; it stops one. So for some the critique, and the critic, may make this book’s mere existence indecent. But like all curios, it invites curiosity.
Written during the coldest part of the Cold War, Freedom Betrayed traces the roots of the U.S.-Soviet conflict to policies enacted by Franklin Roosevelt. First among these is Roosevelt’s 1933 reversal of the policy of his four immediate predecessors denying recognition to the Bolshevik regime. “Soon after the recognition,” Hoover explains, “American members of the Communist Party began filtering into the most important government departments, thus gaining access to matters of national security, and the opportunity to influence or even to make major policies. They also infiltrated labor unions, stirring up class hatred and strikes. They infiltrated college campuses, sowing seeds of doubt in the minds of youth as to our basic principles and institutions. They created subversive fronts to mold public opinion. They stole the secrets of the atomic bomb.”

How Much Bull Are We Expected To Swallow?

The sweet little boy shown in the photo (from 6± years ago) and mass media reports has morphed into a nasty big "gansta-thug."
Imagine that.

Trayvon Martin shooting: New details emerge from Twitter account, witness testimony | The Cutline - Yahoo! News
Dylan Stableford | The Cutline 3/26/12

"With a single punch," the Orlando Sentinel, citing police sources, reported Monday, "Trayvon Martin decked the Neighborhood Watch volunteer ... climbed on top of [him] and slammed his head into the sidewalk several times, leaving him bloody and battered."
"That is the account Zimmerman gave police," the paper said, "and much of it has been corroborated by witnesses, authorities say."
Zimmerman's attorney, Craig Sonner, says that Zimmerman acted in self-defense and is not a racist as some have portrayed him.
"I think we need to let the investigation come forward and let all the facts in this case come out," Sonner said on the "Today" show. "I think it's going to tell a different story than the way it's been related and portrayed in the media." ...
Meanwhile, the difference between the typical teenager Martin's family and supporters say he was and the way he presented himself on social media is the subject of increasing debate.
As Dan Linehan, a blogger at Wagist.com, pointed out, correspondence with Martin on Twitter before he died alludes to an incident with a bus driver. "Yu ain't tell me you swung on a bus driver," Martin's cousin wrote to him on Feb. 21.
The same week, Martin was suspended for 10 days from Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School in North Miami-Dade. "He was not suspended for something dealing with violence or anything like that," his father said. "It wasn't a crime he committed, but he was in an unauthorized area [on school property]," declining to offer more details.
But a family spokesman told the Associated Press on Monday that Martin was suspended because marijuana residue was found in his book bag.

As thousands of people gathered here to demand an arrest in the Trayvon Martin case, a more complicated portrait began to emerge of a teenager whose problems at school ranged from getting spotted defacing lockers to getting caught with a marijuana baggie and women’s jewelry.
The Miami Gardens teen who has become a national symbol of racial injustice was suspended three times, and had a spotty school record that his family’s attorneys say is irrelevant to the facts that led up to his being gunned down on Feb. 26.
In October, a school police investigator said he saw Trayvon on the school surveillance camera in an unauthorized area “hiding and being suspicious.” Then he said he saw Trayvon mark up a door with “W.T.F” — an acronym for “what the f---.” The officer said he found Trayvon the next day and went through his book bag in search of the graffiti marker.
Instead the officer reported he found women’s jewelry and a screwdriver that he described as a “burglary tool,” according to a Miami-Dade Schools Police report obtained by The Miami Herald.

The real outrage is that Obama has already sold out the U.S.

Is Obama a fellow traveller?
Obama wants to give up to the Russians exactly what they wanted since the time when the U.S. had a real President, Ronald Reagan.

Obama’s ‘Flexibility’ on Missile Defense | FrontPage Magazine
By Rick Moran On March 27, 2012

President Barack Obama’s open mic comments to Russian President Dmitri Medvedev, asking for “space” on missile defense  until after the US presidential elections in November when he believes he will have more “flexibility” to negotiate have the White House in full damage control mode. Obama’s request that the Russians hang tight until after the election is not in itself all that surprising. This is an election year and something as vital to US security as missile defense should not be negotiated in a partisan atmosphere. But the key word in the president’s comments is “flexibility.” And the key question is: how much more “flexible” can the president possibly get and not give away the store on missile defense?
The president made his unguarded remarks in Seoul, South Korea where he is attending a summit meeting on nuclear security. Republicansimmediately jumped on the president’s comments to Medvedev, with GOP presidential candidates criticizing Obama’s desire to wait until after the election as a sign that he may be willing to offer larger concessions to the Russians than would be safe for US national security. This is not an unreasonable fear given the president’s past unilateral actions to address Russian concerns about the missile shield. And given the president’seagerness to negotiate another START treaty, there is a danger that Obama will sell out on missile defense in order to get the Russians to sign an arms limitation pact.
The White House deputy national security advisor Ben Rhodes sought to play down the president’s gaffe by passing it off as nothing extraordinary:
Since 2012 is an election year in both countries, with an election and leadership transition in Russia and an election in the United States, it is clearly not a year in which we are going to achieve a breakthrough. Therefore, President Obama and President Medvedev agreed that it was best to instruct our technical experts to do the work of better understanding our respective positions, providing space for continued discussions on missile-defense cooperation going forward.
This isn’t the first time Obama has been caught by a “hot mic” saying something revealing. During a meeting with French President Nicholas Sarkozy last November, there was this exchange about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu between the two leaders that was heard by the assembled press: “I can’t stand him. He’s a liar,” Sarkozy said. Obama replied, “You’re tired of him; what about me? I have to deal with him every day.”
This time, rather than an arrogant dismissal of an ally, the president’s comments are far more revealing of what he plans for a second term if he is re-elected.  The entire exchange was short, but significant:
President Obama: On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved but it’s important for him to give me space.
